How much do you pay for your Jeep registration?

NY: $90/yr registration (based on weight), and ~$35/yr for "inspection" (which on a new car is a complete ripoff).

Ha, can't complain though. Coming from Seattle WA, where they charge based on assessed value, it's pennies on the dollar. I paid upwards of $500/yr for a $50k car. Ridiculous ... who knew NY would actually be cheaper for something?

Just for giggles I checked what I'd be paying for my '22 Sahara 4xe if I was still in Seattle ... looks like over $700 per year.

I highly suspect your NY income tax was a tad higher than nothing. $375 is a small price for 0 income tax. ?

They changed my Tundra from calendar year renewal to birthday renewal so I have a 21 month renewal. The yearly state tax equivicates to $98.14 state and $6 county ($104.14 total) for 5,130 Net Weight and 6,700 GVW pickup truck.

I looked at my county website. Yep, she's a chunky girl. The 4xe is categorized as a "heavy truck (6000-7999 lbs)", so $87 a year. I can't easily see where the other $18 goes. But if you have a goat truck in FL, registration is only $7.50 a year. I wonder what I need to do to get my Jeep categorized as a goat truck.

when I brought my jeep home to socal from where i purchased in Iowa, I gave our lovely DMV a check for $5,468. It appears 4,749 was use tax and the remainder $719 went to registration/fees/chp etc. I need a second home somewheres else.

When did we start the initial 5 year registration? Have to pay for 5 years whether you by or lease. Sell it 2 years later you don't get your money back, not transferable to new vehicle or new owner. Lease for 3 years, still pay 5 year reg.

LOL. My wife is what keeps me here. she loves the ocean. I like the weather but there's a lot more to not like every year that makes it tougher to stay.

Kids and grandkids— don’t want to be more than a one day drive away. The few patches of green (don’t like desert) to the east that work are priced accordingly, north is becoming Ca north, with the Greater Idaho movement only a dream , as commendable as it is. Edit— here too ( New California) it has happened—1861, W Virginia/ Virginia.

In Ohio (Montgomery County) we pay $52.50 to register any car/Jeep for a year. Doesn't matter how much it weighs, or how much it cost. It is a flat fee. No inspections in our area. I think a few counties up around Cleveland still have inspections. Also, sales tax on new vehicle is 7.5% in our county.
