How hot do your heated seats get?

My 18 with cloth seats 1 is plenty for me, my wife will turn the seat up to 3 to start with as a heating pad for her sciatica area. Eventually she will turn down to 2.

For the steering wheel, the warmth seems to vary depending on where you place your hands. For my seats (cloth '23) I can only stand level one for a few minutes before I have to turn it off completely. With level three, I'm pretty sure I could braise beef in the passenger seat.

How hot are your heated seats getting? I got my 19 JLUR a little over a month ago and feel like the seats are lackluster in comparison to any other vehicle that I've felt. Not sure how much it matters, but they're leather. Even on level 3 they are warm at best, no matter how long they're on.

I had a 2022 Tacoma before this and I would have to turn them down after about 15 minutes because they were uncomfortably hot. After that I had a loaner Ford Edge and it was the same scenario, very hot seats, felt like it was going to burn you. That has actually been a trend I've noticed in all the Fords I've been in. Have a few friends with F150s and one has a Bronco Sport. My girlfriend had 2020 Renegade and its seats put the JL to shame too.

I don't have an IR gun so I haven't measured the temps, but I suppose I could pick up a cheap one, they're useful enough.

2018 Jeep JL and they get hot as hell. Even on 1/3 setting they are hot. Needs to be super cold for me to keep it on for long periods of time. Same thing goes for the heated steering wheel. Come to think of it, I’ve never used 2/3 or 3/3 heat setting on the seats as I don’t wanna toast my butt!

'24 4xe cloth seats on setting 3 get too hot for me pretty fast, but I do appreciate setting 3 for remote start.

The steering wheel could be a bit warmer, but again, it really shines with remote start.

heated (cloth) seats in my '21 aren't the hottest i've ever seen, but they don't need to be.

i'll have them on 3 to start with, but they pretty quickly get switched down or even completely off. they might stay on 1 if i'm out below highway speeds, because i'm likely to have some windows open (if it's not wet outside).

steering wheel could be hotter on the coldest snow days, but i'd need a way to turn it down if it was. as it is, it's an 'OK' compromise.

Both of our Jeeps are above average, the Grand Cherokee is even hotter.

Our 24 BMW M4 is terrible, they hardly get warm, where our previous 2018 440 M sport convertible (F chassis) had really nice warmth, including the bolsters and thigh extension. The Wrangler blows the doors off a very high-end BMW seat. The Jeep steering wheels also get warmer than the BMWs, too.

2018 leather - seats were meh @ 3, steering was scalding

2021 leather - seats are scalding @ 3, steering is meh.

Butt in the 2021, 10 minutes to destination, I crank it to 3, and sit on my gloves warm them up.

I need to find a way to just have them default to always on and on HI. Great on my back, getting old sucks.

Go to the heated seat and steering wheel on the radio screen and there is a setting that allows the heated seats or steering wheel to be in the on position on every start just check the box for which ever seats you want heated including the steering wheel.

Max 3/3 setting gets painful after 10 minutes, 2/3 is still usually too hot and 1/3 is comfortable (once it warms up).

Conversely, my steering wheel gets barely warm in comparison to an older JL rental I drove that got uncomfortably hot after just a few minutes bare handed.

That's pretty much how my cloth seat is. 23JLU. Steering wheel is just right.
