I recently had a Synergy steering stabilizer relocation kit installed on my rig. It was a last minute thing to deal with a bent AEV stabilizer before our Rubicon Trail trip.

Everything was fine after two days of wheeling with our Jeep club around Ouray, but a hundred or so miles out I got a "Service Electronic Stability Control" error and related errors about the ACC being disabled. That seemed to be remedied by pushing all the fuses in fully after our emergency stop in Moab.

In part of that, however, I turned the steering wheel lock to lock. Now the steering wheel is quite a bit off center and I need to resolve it. Lots of videos on doing that with a standard stabilizer, but I haven't found anything on fixing one that's relocated.

How do I re-center a steering wheel with a relocated steering stabilizer? Just undo the bolts and move the bracket left/right?

I'm thinking that turning the wheel lock to lock uncovered some root cause of the whole thing, but that's just a hunch due to the ESC system being related to steering angles.

To re-center the steering wheel, loosen this nut with a 15mm wrench and then turn/rotate the knurled part on the drag link. This will turn your steering wheel clockwise or counter clockwise depending on which way you rotate the knurled fitting. If you are looking at it from the center side of the Jeep the direction you turn it will match the direction your wheel will turn. I always mark it with paint before turning so that I know how much I move it. I would start with 1/4 turns. It is trial and error until you get it right. Be sure to re-tighten the nut with your 15mm wrench before driving.

Once the steering wheel is back in the center position, have someone turn it full lock both directions while you look to see if your stabilizer is bottoming out and needs adjusted.

I'll climb under there again tomorrow, but I don't think that I've got that knurled part:

It's on the other end of this part (the drag link) next to the steering box pitman arm connection.

Look behind your bumper skid in this area:

And don't do what I did and mistake the tie rod adjuster for the drag link adjuster! When you first climb under there the tie rod adjustment will be very easily seen, the drag link is a bit further up and can't be seen without actually being under the Jeep due to the skid plate. I felt like a real moron after doing that, but it was late, dark and I was rushing through trying to get inside for dinner before my wife killed me. Ended up costing me another hour to get my toe set back correctly and had to have my wife come help take the measurements. She wasn't thrilled, lol...

The steering stabilizer doesn’t have anything to do with your steering wheel being centered. I’m guessing though that you have something hitting at full lock or your drag link was loose. Get under there while someone cranks the wheel ineither direction or put it on jack stands and move the wheels manually lock to lock to make sure nothing is hitting.
