35" KO2 7K miles. Immediately started spewing air when I pulled it out. Tapped it back in until I can bring it in to tire shop.

Any chance I can find a shop to patch or too far into sidewall? Or would this be something I am likely going to have to take on myself?

Was able to finally get that fifth tire rotated in though :CWL:

Yeah. Too far into the sidewall for my taste. I'd either get a new tire, or as Dlit said get it plugged, swap it out for the spare and kick the can down the road...

Cannot patch a shoulder/sidewall puncture....
Could probably purchase a plug kit from auto parts store, and repair yourself? It's a temporary repair, but could use as a temporary tire only. Not to be used as a full-time use tire.
Tire manufacturer recommend replacing the Tire.
Probably not worth trying to save it...

My understanding has always been that anywhere on the edge row of tread, not even on the side wall, it is not repairable. Whether this is for a good, valid, safety reason or not, I have never been sure. Pretty certain a shop would not repair it though. The problem I've had before is even a tire replacement can become a 4 (or 5) tire replace project - depending on the tread-wear and the difference between the other 3 tires and the replacement tire. Tires can be such a pain... but getting and maintaining good tires (and brakes) has always seems like a good investment.

The tire should be replaced. Not repaired. A reputable shop will not repair this puncture.

It is not that it can not be repaired, but rather that it is not safe to repair. Tires are a safety item.

Jose' the tire man fixes those all day, every day. I'd plug and patch it. It's a little hole. You think the whole sidewall will suddenly blow out from dinky little hole? Lol. All this "no way, it's dangerous " stuff is brought to you by tire makers. I fixed an unknown number of similar tire punctures in the early 70s as a station attendant/mechanic. Looks like the propaganda works. Lol

Don’t mess around with sidewall punctures. Everything might work out fine…but if it doesn’t, the results could be pretty bad.

its a little far over in the sidewall but if it were me I'd plug it and send it. Our 22 Grand Cherokee got one about that spot with just 7k miles on it. Shop couldn't get the proper patch to that location. I had already plugged it so we just ran it and its now at 18k miles no issues. Shop said my plug looked good and should hold. that's good enough for me. If it fails we'll buy the set of AT tires my wife wants for it and move on.

Take it to my buddy who used to plug his motorcycle tires left and right. He’ll use a longer plug, and probably wouldnt mess with it if were a slash vice a clean puncture.

just dont run the Indianapolis 500 with it. Go offroad and wreck it (the tire) past repair, then replace it!
