I have a floor jack and like to lift from under the spring perch, but the lifty thingy doesn't sit on the axle well at all and has slipped. I've only lifted it for tire rotations, but it's frightening.

What are you guys doing/using?
If I only need the lift it up for a quick tire change, I use the lower control arm mounts. I have Artec truss which came with skids. They are nice lift points. If I need to place jack stands, those are also the go to spots. I just need to lift up the axle from the pumpkin, high enough to slide the jack stands to those spots.

P.s. If you say a post lift or something similar I'm going to create an OF in your name and post feet pics.
No, you cant. I already have an OF with feet pics.

I understand the physics behind air jacks and air-ride suspension and I know it's as safe a method of lifting heavy things as steel and hydraulics... but I don't think I could work under a Jeep lifted that way. I just can't get past the fact they look like a balloon on steroids. :)
I would hope they then put a solid jackstand under there after its lifted

Tbf fire departments use airbags to lift vehicles every single day.

I'm not using your feet, so you are really fucked.

Not to work underneath them. Shops used to have hydraulic in ground lifts and even they had locks on them to hold them in place so if the air failed it didnt come right down.

Hi John, What's there name and where did you get them. Thanks Bob.
My post, #22, shows lifting height for the same jack. It's what I have.

Here's link to Vevor's air jacks - multiple configurations (mostly handle types). Both John's and mine are 2nd from left on the second row ($97.90). To the right is the same jack with long handle.

If I had it to do again I probably would get the one with long handle and controls on handle. The jack is not light, and can make getting it placed under vehicle a PITA.

And, I say controls on handle because I'm uncomfortable with being under the vehicle while operating the jack. Since my controls are on the jack, I drilled holes in the fill and drain valve handles. Then put a screw and nut through the end of a broom handle.

I use jack stands if I'm going to be under the vehicle. But, I have left a vehicle on the jack only for hours and it has never leaked down.

They are surprisingly tough...I've left the Jeep up overnight. Yes, put a jack stand there too, if you're gonna be under the car.
