been using my floor jack under the lower control arm mounts for many years..some time back about 20 years ago I stuck a motorcycle kickstand plate (used under the kickstand when on hot asphault) on it and it has been there every since and works great..I have installed no less than 20 lifts using it.

You may want to crop your feet out of the pic so the OP doesn’t get “excited”

I use one of these old Applied Power Blackhawk bottle jacks. Works great. Just used the taller one the other day for a 5 tire rotation.

I have a floor jack and like to lift from under the spring perch, but the lifty thingy doesn't sit on the axle well at all and has slipped. I've only lifted it for tire rotations, but it's frightening.

What are you guys doing/using?

P.s. If you say a post lift or something similar I'm going to create an OF in your name and post feet pics.
at the rear of the front lower control arms there's a metal bracket extending under the frame. jack it from there and then put a jack stand under the frame itself.

If you want to jack the whole front all at once, a cross beam like this one from Harbor Fright is a good idea. I have one. Do I ever jack from the middle? Well, I'm not gonna tell you guys.

I own 4 floor jacks, so I don't need to pull out the cross beam and bolt it to one of the jacks. But you can see that aluminum jack in the middle has 2 extensions and a pad that I made with a threaded hole to bolt that axle spring perch on. That cradles an axle tube.

I use a hockey puck between my floor jack and the base of the spring perch.

I have 2 of these...fantastic!

I understand the physics behind air jacks and air-ride suspension and I know it's as safe a method of lifting heavy things as steel and hydraulics... but I don't think I could work under a Jeep lifted that way. I just can't get past the fact they look like a balloon on steroids. :)

I put the lifty thing under the one part...

Seriously, the jacks I have the cup on the lift point cradles the control arm mounts.
