Currently have OEM metal rear bumper, and am looking to get a trailer hitch with 2" receiver for a small aluminum trailer . Does anyone have experience with a hitch that does not lessen ground clearance?

@Instaurare

You need to do some measuring, etc. before you can make an educated decision on a trailer hitch for your particular JL and your trailer.

For info that will prove helpful read here.... In short though you would be best served over the long haul/over the years with an adjustable hitch.

Another thing to consider is if you are using your hitch receiver for a bike rack, it needs to be extended out to get clearance past the spare tire. I just purchased a Curt 8” extension (45791).
It will also help with short, tongued trailers with close in trailer jacks. It can be quickly removed for other vehicles and when not in use.
