My JK came with a "moderate" (~2"?) lift, and 265-70-17s. 32s.
I don't think it looks bad, but the PO apparently had 315/70s on it, since that's what the speedo was still calibrated for, and what was on the spare. (I wondered why people were passing me like I was sitting still, when I was showing 75 on the speedo. When I got home and connected my AlfaOBD, I figured it out.)

My JLU Sahara came with 255/70-18s on it. When I bought new wheels, I replaced them with 275/65-18s. Also ~32". Stock height, but regeared to 4.11s and added lockers. Wildpeak AT3Ws, since it's my daily.

This is what a Sahara with a 2.5in lift with 33s looks like:

And here it is with 35s (255/85 MT BB ATs):

keep in mind both are on 17inch wheels though
Those are load Range E though. Too stiff harsher ride.

I had just read that I should regear for 33s
I have 285/65/18s on my Sahara. Is it a must?

What you have is probably 33", or close to it, now. I'm not going to try to make that call, but our Sahara, with a manual trans, wouldn't pull a fat man from a donut shop with the stock 3.45s. 6th gear was useless. 5th was marginal. It really benefited from the 4.11s. It's really what it should have come with. (Or the Rubicon's 4.10s.)

An automatic trans would be a lot more forgiving, and the FCA 8 speed is especially good. I love the one in my Ram, and I don't even like automatics.
I suppose it depends upon what you are going to be doing with it, what you expect, and how you drive.
