Hello everyone, i greatly apricate everyone's response ahead of time. This is my first post on this forum. I have done research prior to this and have come up empty on youtube and in the forums. Someone help...

Jeep Wrangler 2020 JL Sahara
Issue: Skyone Touch one fully close

Okay so! I was stopped at a light and decided to open my sky one touch. I hadn't opened it for about 5 months now because of all the heat in Miami South Florida. I hear a loud pop and then it opened as normal. I go to close it and it wont close all the way. I get the error message saying "obstruction/obstacle"

I get as close as 1" from closing and it just retracts and gives me the error. I have tried it at least 30times and I've tried to recalibrate it as well.

I removed both motors and checked for damage
I checked the tracks for obstruction
I re-greased the rails and motors
I manually closed the top all the way to the front with both motors removed and it slides normally. It also slides all the way back. When i put the motors on back on... i get the same error message.

I even pressed the button to get the motors all the way back (opened) while they where removed, then installed them to trick the top and still no luck.

I think the motors might be damaged somehow even though they open and close and don't make sounds when running. I just feel that the motor is some how being told to stop at a certain point but I cannot see any sensors anywhere to clean or tell the jeep that it has obstruction...

So what I ask for is any ideas/support/opinion.

Has anyone seen a sensor on these things?

I have it manually closed for now and hope it doesn't leak but I know it aint locked

Unfortunately, you've already done everything I can think to try. You may have to bite the bullet and have a dealer look at it.

May sound silly, but did you check the fuse? F73.
i did not because both motors operate. the fuse would interrupt the flow of electricity making one motor not function.

UPDATE! So i took it to the dealer and we assume there is some slack in the cable on the passenger side. I am waiting for them to call me to give me the verdict. I did find out online that they sell the cable alone so i should not have to replace the entire skytouch. That was my biggest fear due to the expense but i assume replacing a cable aint easy and hourly cost aint cheap. fingers crossed

Any update?

we are experiencing what sounds like the exact same problem, although we never heard any sort of pop like you describe.

I took it to the dealer who wanted to simply sell me a new sky top and charge me upwards of $5000.

my next idea is to remove the sky top and throughly and carefully attempt to find a screw that may have fallen into the track causing an obstruction

My friend, my car has been at the dealer for over a month and a half and they have yet to do anything to fix my jeep. According to them, the fix requires both rails, both cables and both latches to be replaced. mind you the problem is clearly on my passenger side but they want both side new of course for profit reasons i assume. At the same time, they do not want to warranty one side only so i get two years in warranty after my repair. Now the money... So they came with a quote of 6 hours labor at a 250.00 hr rate plus parts and it was slightly over 4,000. I told them to suck it. After showing them that the parts straight from mopar for half the price they budges and re quoted the parts to half which almost matched what i showed them bring me down to $3k.

Mind you i am not getting motors or canvas replaced. There's a bulletin on the repair. ask them for it. its a strange longated number with letters

Sounds like you'd be better off finding a dang donor and tearing it down to replace parts on yours.

Two months ago when mine first happened, I searched the net for any info that led me to hope it might be simply due to a screw working itself out and falling into the track.
We’ve taken off the top and trying to investigate
