Should these higher clamping force clutches then come with their own slave cylinders to prevent issues with the hydraulics?
Maybe, I think Centerforce does. I'm sure ACT tested with OEM system. But if the hydraulic fluid (brake fluid in this case) is contaminated, the OEM system might not work properly. A fluid (brake/clutch) flush is pretty cheap and easy, but entire system will have to be bled. The hot fluid was an issue with some hydraulic Harley clutches not fully disengaging, Harley went back to cable.

Maybe ACT should open up an install shop. I bet people would pay to take it there to get these installed. Or at least have a list of local shops that they work with to do installs. Would save a lot of grief, time and money for some folks.
My garage is up and running in Pueblo West, CO. Anyone can reach out. I'm not affiliated with ACT though, but could be... ACT? Lol

As far as I know, it's an install problem. @chevymitchell has installed numerous of the ACT clutches for forum members and I haven't heard of any problems. When the time comes I might make the trip to Colorado...
You're welcome to stop by any time. May have to schedule you out a ways but I could get it done, no problem.

The slave cylinder that comes stock has more than enough pushing power for the aftermarket pressure plates. No worries there. It's likely a bleeding/air issue and should be easily remedied. There is no magic sauce here; straight FWD install really.

It was discovered today my master cylinder has a leak. When and why it started leaking I can't say. I'll replace it and see if that fixes all my issues. I hope that's the case.

Oh yeah... that'll cause all of your symptoms. I'm willing to bet that's all this is. Let us know how that goes. There isn't anything hydraulic that gets disconnected for this job. In fact, the slave cylinder rotates out of the way really well.

I just hope you're still doing it in a few years -- I decided to keep the stock clutch until it dies. Or at least for a while. I only have 10k miles so far. Fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed…I’d hate to think I jinxed you by saying you were due for a good luck streak ☹

Initially I was having issues going into first then had the recall done and the Jeep shifted perfect. Now after 10,000 miles I'm having the same issue going into first. If it was the synchros I would have had the same issues after changing the clutch, but I had no issues for 10,000 and now it returned which leads me to believe it's air in the lines. Now to find a good shop that can do this procedure. Hopefully it's not a reoccurring event!!

Can you elaborate on this? When replacing the master cylinder do you not have to drain the line again?
