I will try swapping back and forth with each hand!Dang, I was hopeful for an easy fix.
Have you tried both hands? To quote the late great Copernicus,
"Mo' hands, mo' better!
Two hands, two better!"

+1. Says so in the Jeep manual, page 156At least you're not asking for that critical feature for manuals. Driving with your hand rested on a stick shift isn't great for the transmission.
Try these.Yes I realize this is a first-world problem and that I'm likely to attract all of the "electronics are bad" Jeepers, but hear me out.
Like I imagine most of you, I typically drive with one hand on the wheel, and the other resting on my shifter, even in an automatic. While the steering wheel is heated, the shifter knob is not, so my right hand is typically freezing in the winter, while my left hand is spoiled with the heated steering wheel.
Has anyone tried to add a heating element to the automatic shifter knob? It could be wired up to the heated steering wheel button, so no new switch is needed, but it would be nice if both hands could be warm.
Wow, I didn't realize it was called out so directly. Unfortunately some people will likely still question it.+1. Says so in the Jeep manual, page 156

Carpel tunnel from vibrating Peterbilt shifter. Now you do. But it took driving ~6–12 hrs a day for -30 years so avg drivers should be OK. ?I know the idea of not keeping your hand on the shifter is well know. I just think it's something that you couldn't do in the 60's and maybe manuals have improved a tiny bit. I don't know a single manual driver that's ever had a problem from resting their hand on a shifter. Did MGs have good transmissions?
Bitching? Like no auto up windows, no electric seats and they don’t heat fast enough, actually have to touch the door to open it, ACC doesn’t adjust to their liking, the Ambient Lights aren’t bright enough, but no heated auto shift knob beats them all. OMG— Jeepers?? New SchoolAnd rightfully so. This reminds me of a thread where the poster was complaining about how the doors didn't automatically unlock when they got close to the Jeep. That they had to actually touch the Jeep unlike their Cadillac. My response was while they were worried about that someone in the heart of the Congo was worried about their door not locking and being raped by a roving band of rebels.
I'm dumbfounded by some of the bitching that goes on here. We are such an entitled nation.

It also says to always apply your parking brake. NEVER sue the PARK position on your automatic transmission as a substitute for the parking brake. I'll bet there's a couple drivers on here breaking that rule too+1. Says so in the Jeep manual, page 156

It amazes me how often I see this when riding with others. They’ll allow the full weight of the vehicle onto the transmission to hold on a hill, not understanding if you set the parking brake before releasing your foot from the brake pedal it prevents this. Think it just demonstrates a general lack of understanding how mechanical things work, and bolsters the assumption they ‘just should/do’ -and how something is treated ‘should’ have no impact. This is why user manuals are written… sadly they seem to largely go unread/ignored. Then people wonder why theirs cars break. It also says to always apply your parking brake. Well, the cable will never need adjustment.?This is the parking brake on my YJ...

Possibly by a chiropractor?Well, the cable will never need adjustment.?
That should be a thread-ending post, but I figure we're good for another 2-4 pages of irrelevant conjecture.
