Cabin is smaller in JT, but I can tell you it is a very noticeable difference. My 20 had the Mopar one, and My 23 came without one, so the difference just driving home from the dealer was instantly noticeable. Installed the Hotheads a few weeks later. I think the hotheads is a little better with the sound strips installed, but both are close. If you're ordering from factory just have the mopar installed. If you've already got the jeep and no headliner, order Hotheads. Both work fine.

I've always had the factory headliners, so I have no other data point to draw a conclusion from. I mean the cabin is still going to be noisy. Honestly I feel like there are plenty of places other than the roof where noise is coming from. Maybe that means they're working lol.

I will say I am so used to them aesthetically, I think I would continue getting them for that reason alone. Although obviously that's purely subjective.

Because the A/C is so efficient, I have never seen a need for them. This includes the summer heat in Phoenix AZ.
But from comments in the Forums, Hothead Linners do have the most positive responses.

I had a factory one in my 2018 JKURR and thought it made a positive difference for sound quality ie less noise...I had 3 prior JK's without before getting one with, so I am a little surprised some say they don't do anything on the JL's as far as softening the noise a bit.

I went with Bacon for 2 reasons. One: it's breakfast time and I am hungry. Two: I came from a soft top convertible to a hard top Jeep. The Jeep is quite in comparison and I don't see a need for a headliner.
Bacon is always the correct answer. But I am interested in the feedback with respect to noise. I have the soft top (Bestop "fastback" style...not the one in my profile pic). I think it is pretty quiet. But I'd be curious to compare it to a hard top with MOPAR or Hotheads headliners.

Put in a Hothead headliner in my hard top Gladiator last year. I haven't noticed any real difference in sound or temperature but didn't really expect to even though I've read reviews stating they were an improvement. I'm much happier with the look of the interior with them though.

Same here. Mine came from the factory.

If i have to guess it helps but marginal at best.
Most noise comes from windshield frame, door frame, and chassis. The thermal insulation capability is also questionable if it doesn't cover the whole thing.

I live in Northern Indiana. The top is off from end of May to early September. And I dont drive the jeep when its super cold or snowing, either. If I had the choice, I wouldnt pay for it.

My experience is yes, it does help a little with cabin noise and temp control (I've got Hotheads liners). But in hindsight I don't think it makes $500 of difference. I would probably skip this upgrade on my next Jeep, personally. There's better things I can think to spend $500 on.

I added butyl foil backed strips underneath of the factory headliner. But most of the noise come from the windshield area, and through the door seams. Helped a bit with the Texas heat. I need to pull the trigger on the Coverking Topliner.

I've had both. I voted no. I really don't notice any difference. My current one has them from the factory and I do like the darker interior look, but for noise/temp, I'm not sure I can tell, and at the price I don't think it would be worth it if I could tell. I have a sunrider on now and noise is obviously louder and there is definitely heat radiating so I just adjust the A/C:)

I guess I just don't understand, I buy a Jeep because it is a Jeep. They are not quiet and don't ride like a luxury car but than again that's why I buy a Jeep. If I wanted quiet and smooth than I would not by a Jeep.

I voted bacon because I feel that headliners in theory, should come factory-installed on a $2,700 hardtop - but, the OEM Mopar headliners are borderline useless and mine were installed in a way that actually causes vibrational noise instead of sound deadening.

The flimsy corner edge of mine will buzz and rattle in certain temps as it rubs against the indentation of the freedom panel. And when it's not rattling, the amount of wind noise dampening in that area seems exactly the same as my dad's JK without them.

If had to do over, I'd just buy the damn Hothead headliner with their optional sound-deadening strips installed underneath them. Plus, I could've gone with a grey color that would've at least matched my paint job instead of the black Mopar on white freedom panel zebra look.

Biggest fucking waste of $500 that I can remember spending.

Several years ago, I installed the Hothead Headliners with Sound Assassin strips on our 2018 Sahara, including the rear side windows panels. I did a before and after sound db comparison on the same freeway, same day, same speed to compare using a phone app. There was a noticeable 8-9 db difference for me, which practically meant that I did not have to turn up the radio as much to hear it.

Our 2024 XR came with the Mopar headliners and side window panels installed. I personally DO think that it makes a difference. Could I live without? Sure. But every little bit helps when you're talking about a fiberglass top with nothing else between you and the outside. Headliners don't really cost that much in the world of mods, and I personally think they are worth it.
