I just got a Mopar tailgate reinforcement and I want to paint it or have it painted or powder coated to match my Punk'n Jeep before I mount it. I'm in California close to Sacramento if anyone has local suggestions, I don't mind sending it out. Anyone else done this and who what how? Thanks!

Paint will get you a perfect match but powder is far more durable. It depends on what parts you are doing. Like a steel bumper. Painted can get rock chips and scratch easily if you touch something. If you do paint the bumpers or similar, having a powder coated base coat will make it more durable and gives the paint a fantastic coating to bond to.

ive done both with custom wheels which see plenty of abuse being next to the ground.

you can find a good powder coating shop in your area and look through their sample books to find a decent match to the color. Though it doesnt always look exactly the same on metal in real life (vs a sample in a book).

whichever way you go, ask them to media blast the parts first. Many shops (paint and powdet) just scuff the parts.

Had my mopar tailgate reinforcement powder coated to match the firecracker paint on my Jeep, highly recommend it. When I sold the 4xe I removed and plan to install on my 392.

Not that I could find. I can say the color wasn’t a perfect match, but it was very close that I didn’t even notice it. Once I put it on my 392 I’ll post a pic.
