painted fenders

Hello,

i have received Rubicon unpainted fenders .
could you explain how to detach the 2 parts of the fenders to paint the top?
I’ve removed all the rivets but it’s not moving

Check American Adventure Lab, or maybe on youtube under their name. I think they have a video showing how to take apart the fender when they install their LED light and bracket.

Sad to say they are not designed to come off the base as they are sonic welded together. Painting will involve tape! [GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
That is an image I got off this forum with the tops removed. Those square pads with the weird white mark is where they are welded together.

The method is a bit agressive if i want to keep both parts in good condition.
So the only way to paint these wings is to tape the textured part ?
Sometimes I really don’t understand how mopar works....
