I started a thread on this issue as well to see if there is anyone with the 5" Screen that has a working clock. I am yet to find one person. Well done FCA lol.

Wow, didn't even know this was possible in 2020!My clock looses 3 minutes a month. Was wondering if anyone else has this problem. Doesn't really make sense considering it is controlled by a computer.
Dave, can you tell me more about this? I thought Android Auto used the phone GPS, I didn't know it would connect to an antenna on the Jeep? I didn't see anything in the owner's manual...where did you find it?I've read through this thread and found it interesting that everyone keeps asking how the clock gets set via GPS when there is no GPS. On vehicles with CarPlay and Android Auto (JLs with 7" and 8.4" radios), there is a dual purpose GPS/SAT antenna installed on the roll bar, regardless of whether you have SiriusXM or GPS. The vehicle antenna serves as the GPS antenna when CarPlay or Android Auto are in use. It is this antenna that is used to sync the clock to GPS. Most (if not all) aftermarket radios, without built-in NAV, that support CarPlay and Android Auto come with a GPS antenna for this purpose.
It’s not in any of the manuals. It’s just how Android Auto and Apple CarPlay work with most, if not all, vehicle infotainment systems.Dave, can you tell me more about this? I distinctly remember the maps not working when GPS is off on my phone...so why wouldn't the Jeep antenna take over at that point? I'll get a screenshot for you. It’s not in any of the manuals. It’s just how Android Auto and Apple CarPlay work with most, if not all, vehicle infotainment systems.
Android Auto and APple CarPlay can either use the GPS antenna in the connected head unit or the GPS antenna within the device itself. The phone’s GPS is augmented by the vehicle’s GPS antenna. You'll find head units without built in navigation that come with a GPS antenna just for this purpose.I distinctly remember the maps not working when GPS is off on my phone...so why wouldn't the Jeep antenna take over at that point? Ok, I get it. But I was hoping the android auto in the Jeep would use this preexisting GPS antenna, and in my experience that is not the case.Android Auto and APple CarPlay can either use the GPS antenna in the connected head unit or the GPS antenna within the device itself.
