No it works on my 7 inch setup somehow. No gps nav. Maybe it uses the satellite radio.
Settings-clock-sync with gps time
Ys. Mine (non-nav) is the same. Mystery where it gets the time from though.

This is a pretty damn funny. Digital clocks have been in vehicles for around 40 years and yet FCA is still having issues?

But then again, speedometers have been around for much longer and mine sometimes shows that I'm going 10km/h when I'm parked in my driveway.

My clock looses 3 minutes a month. Was wondering if anyone else has this problem. Doesn't really make sense considering it is controlled by a computer.
My 2018 JL loses 3 to 5 minutes quickly after any clock reset. Also... my entire radio unit will reset without warning occasionally, making a very loud "POP!" through the speaker system with the radio unit blacking out and then coming back on as if it had never been programmed before with 12:00 as the time. I think this unit in this new JL must be defective or there is some other sort of electrical issue with this new JL. Having it looked at by Jeep Service next week... hopefully I'm not returning there for the same issue after that!

I've been having the loss of 3 or 5 minutes every two weeks for 6 weeks now. (Bought the Jeep in mid-June). I have the base radio, it did exactly as you described with the speaker system, blacking out, and coming back with the time at midnight for the first time today.

I thought that I read somewhere in one of the manuals that you can set time via the GPS system?
Yes, yes you can have the clock synced to the GPS system. By default, it is not, which I find strange, but none the less you can make that setting change in the "setup" screen somewhere. I stumbled across it the other day. Wasnt hard to find.

It’s a Jeep Thing .... time slows down, the universe itself relaxes, and the deep feeling of freedom blankets the busy mind. If you are lucky you will enter The Zone one day when time actually stands still. Jeeps do that. (Usually right before a major drivetrain component gives out, and you are helplessly sliding towards that giant rock)

I have the 5" screen and mine loses time too. Also, when listening to music on the USB it resets to the first song every time the Jeep is re-started. This is the first Jeep I have ever owned... Quality seems a little shaky with this thing, and it only has 500 miles on it.

The clock is still a mystery to me. I have a Sport S with the 7-inch screen and no Navigation. I have the setting to synch the clock to GPS, but with no built-in Navigation, with what exactly is it synching? It seems to work, with the exception that it is almost always defaults to East coast time and I'm on the West coast.

Luckily I wear a watch.

I think in that instance it's more of a manual setting since there's no onboard GPS to receive the timing signals from the satellite. So very good point indeed for those of you without onboard navigation.

My clock says 11:54 and it is actually 7:42. Why does this happen? I have the DEATH WOBBLE also. My entire 2018 Jeep Wrangler 4 door shakes violently at higher speeds. I also had the steering problem that it wouldn’t turn left and almost wrecked on the hiway because of it. They fixed the steering so far. Death wobble and clock issues. This is a brand new Jeep with 9984 miles, these issues should not be happening. So disappointed in this Jeep and Marks Casa Jeep dealer in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, they make it seem like what I am telling them is happening/wrong with this Jeep is all Lies. This Jeep is a death trap for my kids and I. So disappointed.

Hi SpringsJL and Noholme4,
We are truly sorry that you are experiencing these trouble. Unfortunately I am unable to determine why you are experiencing these concerns, as I am not a trained technician but I would be happy to have these concerns documented and escalated to a Case Specialist who will work with your dealers to help find a potential solution to these concerns.
