:cwl:Stick with your GC then. No matter what you are going to hear more of the outside world even with hard top and liners. If you prefer a very quiet cabin that keeps outside noise to a minimal you won't be happy with a Wrangler.Has anyone ridden in a new Grand Cherokee? How is it compared to the new JLU? I own a 2017 Limited and kind of wanted a JLU Sahara next, but I've never ever been in a Wrangler. I need to test drive one but I feel like I'm not gonna like it even though its been my dream car for a while :/ I'm used to my GC's smooth and quiet ride.
I would definitely get one with a body colored hard top with the installed headliner.
Thanks for being honest. I usually blast music on the freeways, I just mainly look for a stable ride and comfortable interior.Stick with your GC then. You should at least take one for a test drive and get on a highway around other traffic, especially motorcycles or tractor trailers. From what you wrote it seems that a quiet cabin is very important so I would say that a Wrangler is not for you.
First time Jeep owner here. I traded in my BMW X5 for a JLUR. Way louder and there's a whistle somewhere in the windshield/freedom top area above 50 MPH. Love it!!!Can some of the folks who have claimed to have a quieter Jeep on this thread, kindly, check the sound decibel reading while driving at 40/mph and 70/mph on the highway, using some app on your phone ?

The problem is some of us, including me, are first time Jeep owners and would like to know what level of wind noise is normal/acceptable and what is not.
I wouldn’t claim my top is loud or quiet. Idling my car registered between 70 and 73 dB. Driving at 40 mph my car was registering 85 dB and at 70 mph it was registering 90 dB. I don’t know if this will help, but these our my readings on this windy day.Can some of the folks who have claimed to have a quieter Jeep on this thread, kindly, check the sound decibel reading while driving at 40/mph and 70/mph on the highway, using some app on your phone ?

These questions come up all the time and honestly it is very subjective. I put more miles on my motorcycle than I do in my Jeep. I prefer two wheels whenever I can be on them. With that being said the Jeep has a very quiet interior to me but that is more due to me being on a motorcycle more than anything. Thanks for being honest.
