That makes sense, but I've my windshield tinted :) so was trying to avoid the hassle of replacing it then getting re-tinted.

Just wondering, if applying some sort of weatherstrip adhesive (3M or Permatex) would simply fix those gaps. Is that even recommended or will it mess up the windshield? Anyone?

I think you have to get almost all of these warranties before your factory bumper to bumper warranty expires. The only advantage of getting it at the time of purchase might be the cost factor, which could slightly go up if you get it at the end of the factory bumper warranty.
