i have been thinking of purchaseing some jack stands myself, getting close to first oil change and tire rotation. Finally decided metal on metal, dangerous of slipping. so going to the local sawmill and get some soft wood blocks cut at different heights, use floor jack raise it up slide in blocks. The old safe way and cheaper. My my dad use to do it this way.
Nice, wasn't sure about the height on those. Definitely can't complain about the price.
No doubt, those ain't cheap. I feel like if I got those I would feel compelled to put everything I could on jack stands every weekend, would need to get my money's worth.I’m getting a set of 10 ton stands from US Jack. As soon as I sell something to raise the money , lol.
Yeah.... I have the 12 ton Pittsburgh’s which seem to work well., but with this recall it will always be in the back of my mind .No doubt, those ain't cheap. I feel like if I got those I would feel compelled to put everything I could on jack stands every weekend, would need to get my money's worth.
They're super nice, don't get me wrong.
Hmmm... I don't know how safe stacking up wood blocks are and in 34 years of wrenching on cars I've never had metal on metal slipping. If you jack the vehicle up and put the jack stands in the correct location you should have no problems.i have been thinking of purchaseing some jack stands myself, getting close to first oil change and tire rotation. Holy cow, $500 for two jack stands, I may as well let Chinese kill me instead.I’m getting a set of 10 ton stands from US Jack. As soon as I sell something to raise the money , lol.
So they freely show the level of appreciation of your patronage. Good to know.I returned mine this morning, store manager seamed pissed that I was there to do it. When one of the cashiers saw me walking in with them they made the comment of “here we go“. I guess they know a lot of work is coming there way with returns. I also tried to return a ratchet so he punished me on that by telling me I would have to bring in the entire 66 piece tool kit in instead of just switching it out. Before I left one of the salespeople told me that they never do that.
Unfortunately my experience with HF is always like that. If you use any coupon they treat you like criminals, if you return stuff they treat you like criminals, if you ask for stuff they treat you like criminals. So they freely show the level of appreciation of your patronage. Good to know.
Sounds like they’re asses at that store. They have no regard for your inconvenience of having to return a recalled defective product that could hurt or kill somebody.
Bummer...I bought 4 that are listed as recalled 8 months ago and have climbed under the jeep multiple times with them. Scary stuff..Thanks for posting...... looks like I have to make a trip to HF. I’m also thankful that these are to short to use on my rig now that I’m on a 3.5” lift and 37s. Haven’t used them in about 6 months........

I know...... I’ve been using the 12 ton ones because the 6 tons were to short, but I’m hesitant to keep using them now. They’re probably fine but I’m still gonna be wondering, lol.Bummer...I bought 4 that are listed as recalled 8 months ago and have climbed under the jeep multiple times with them. Scary stuff..
