I've asked something similar already but am still undecided on what to get. The halogen headlights on my 2021 JL are just awful, and my eyes aren't getting any better as I get older. I am at the point where I need to change what I have. If I go with a lamp replacement, what is recommended? Will they flicker? My mind is spinning from the amount of research I've done to really come away without answers. I've looked at Lasfit LS plus (will they flicker)? Also SV.4's (will they flicker)? I'm open to any recommendations.... Thank you all!

I’m selling a pair of Diode Dynamics Elite Max headlights on here right now. I’d recommend something like that or Oracle. Obviously if you want to buy mine let me know but they are top of the line headlights ($1000.00 original cost). Pretty cool features though and they are backed by an 8 year warranty. You won’t find that anywhere else.

For bulb replacements I hear that the output is not much better than the halogens, it just changes the color of your light.

I've had SV.4 bulbs in my halogen housings for about 3 years or more. I couldn't be more pleased. Never a flicker. I wanted to retain the factory adjuster location, so it was simple and quick to adjust the lights when I load it up vs when it's lightly loaded. So, most of the aftermarket stuff with an adapter type of bucket were out, because they require removing the grill to get to the adjuster. That's a no-go for me. So, my choices were retain the OEM halogen housing with a better bulb, or go to factory LED housings. At the time, there was a shortage of OEM LED lights. So, my choice was easy. SV.4 bulbs are the best bulbs I've seen for pattern and useable light. There's no question, they were worth every penny.

Thank you! Those are my first choice, I'm glad you gave a good review!

Wouldn't the OP want H13-compatible LED bulbs? That's the equivalent of the OEM halogen fitments. Your links only allow H11/H9/H8s to be selected.
I clicked the drop down to the H13 lamps. Still unsure about the anti-flickering device!

Jeb,

I switched from halogen factory ligths to LED's. Lasfit H13 9008 is the light I am using that Lasfit recommended. No flickering, no other devices used or needed for these lights. I did have to slightly adjust/lower them, that's it.

Best of luck buddy.

I put H13 LED bulbs in the headlights of my 2019 and 2021. Huge improvement over the halogen and I haven't had any problems.

@JEBIGA,

J, I recently replaced my plastic front with the steel Rubicon bumper. However, I got this as a take off from a friend who took the fog light harness for their third party replacement. So I had to use my original halogen harness for the LED fogs.

Here was what I discovered moving from halogens to LEDs.

The halogens require a constant voltage whereas the LED's required more of a constant current source. But that's not really accurate either. The LED power source is really 'duty cycled' which indirectly affects the current. It's this duty cycle, typically 50% on and 50% off, that causes the 'flicker' and not the LED itself. The higher the duty cycle, the more on vs off time, the less flicker results. But that's a function of the power source more than the bulb itself.

So it's the LED package that controls the flicker (and brightness). However, not all solutions are equal in the end result. Some LED's implement their own power regulators so will work directly from the halogen constant voltage source. Others do not. You will have to instruct the body control module to modify the power mode via recalibrating it's software. So not every replacement bulb will work the same.

Luckily, I have a Tazer and I was able to readjust the power mode accordingly for my LED fogs. You may need to do the same.

Hope this helps.
Jay

I have been researching this as well so when I get ready I will know what I want.

First from what I am seeing and others have testified, there is a considerable difference in the brightness. LED bulbs can put out more light than our stock halogens. It's not just that there a white light, they also brighter.

Also if cost is a concern, they are a hell of a lot cheaper than the hole light, much cheaper to replace if they go out. Or if your like me I want to keep my stock housings with the Easter egg jeep grills in them.

Anyhow some forum members recommended "Sealight" I checked them out. Seem like a good company that makes multiple different quality lights at a better price point than other name brand lights.

Oh, and there are plenty of LED bulbs out there that won't flicker and will work just fine.

And thanks to the forum members who chimed in about Sealight, I was impressed with their products and pricing.
