This is one of those questions that can be confusing. You will use the low beam for all aiming. AND that aiming is a manual intentional action not a programable action. You will use aiming screws on the headlight frame on the vehicle and/or individual aiming adjustment screw built-in to the headlight, such as the ORACLE Lighting Oculus Bi-Led Headlight. The very directional part of your headlights ARE the lowbeams, which is why that is used in aiming. The highbeams are fill light for the remainder of the visible area when activated.

We have an article on aiming headlights on our blog page. There are also other great reading information there.

We have done this alignment and they were a little high, and we were able to lower them. The problem is the high beams. When the high beams are on we can barely see the road and the beams seem to be shining at street sign level & up, in the trees!

High beams should throw their beam well down the road (and upward somewhat) and not necessarily the space immediately in front of the Jeep. To really tell if what you have is "normal" or not we would need a nighttime pic of the low beam and high beam.

Yeah, I was thinking of posting a pic. It’s been frigid here in central Wisconsin (-20°). I’ll get a pic next time we venture out. Lol

Were you able to confirm that you actually have factory Jeep headlights?

Okay then...
I cannot imagine that level of cold. I visited Wisconsin in April one year and it was too cold for me. The hotel staff laughed at me. They were all celebrating the warm weather and I was all bundled up.
I saw a man outside his house smoking. He just had on a pair of shorts. I guess he was born in Wisconsin.

Hey all, newbie to this forum!
We just swapped out our factory halogen headlights (and taillights & fog lights) to our 2020 Wrangler Sport JL, from a 2020 Sahara. Everything seemed to work fine, in the garage. Our only issue is the high beams are waaaayyy too high, in the trees lol.
We did an alignment, 25’ back & 3’ up on the garage door. Low beams were slightly high, high beams were above the 3’ mark.
The service tech at our dealership told us that it won’t work! He said we could get a wire harness? A fellow jeeper told us to use OBD Jscan along with a security bypass module and a Bluetooth dongle to reprogram it.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
I went with bulbs from Headlight Revolution, perfect pattern no alignment required and works perfectly with the computer and brighter than stock LED

Hello I had the same problem doing my switch to LED on my 2022 Rubicon. Picked up a set of OEM LED locally. I picked up an unmarried Tazer JL mini for 200 re flashed the computer for the LED’s and they now work perfectly. You just need to activate the LED,s and reboot. Takes all of 10 minutes to do. It’s not an aim or height adjustment issue. The computer doesn’t recognize the LED so when you activate the high beams it’s shutting down the low beams which is why you are seeing what looks like a miss aimed high beam. Hope this helps.

Then, once you have the Tazer, program the fog lights to stay on with the high beams. Makes a big difference.

I was chatting with another Jeep owner/mechanic that I found on a facebook group. He told me to get a security bypass cable (from Amazon) and download the JSCAN app. It was a little confusing to navigate the app, but we eventually figured it out. Thank you for the reply.
