Awesome. We'll be PCSing to Atlanta but I have friends in Nashville and I don't mind traveling to work with a good dealership. I really hope that my wait to order is rewarded with a good color.
Come on "Chief" :like:
? ?
That's what I'm hoping for.

But it ain't gonna happen. :crying:

We wanted yellow. My dad had a 1969 Bronco in yellow with a white top.
Wish you luck and yellow is by far the most gorgeous color for a Wrangler, but since they discontinued Hella 3 days after I ordered mine I doubt it's coming back for awhile, who knows.

BUT

We can hope for another brilliant yellow to appear on the order sheet for 22. ? ?

Folks, question regarding front license plates. I got my permanent plates yday and I live in TX. Which means I need to slap that front license plate....I couldn't find a spot to screw it in. Any other front license plate folks here have a solution? Do I need to buy any frame?

Thanks !

Drill it and use 4 screws.

That's too bad because I am a HUGE proponent of doing business locally, when possible, but I'm also a proponent of saving 6 grand for the same, exact item.
This - right here, I don't understand why more people don't follow this plan. I guess they do since Gupton has 147 Jeep's on the lot, while the three dealers in my area have 0. My local dealer actually had the exact build I wanted and ended up purchasing from Gupton. I basically gave them multiple opportunities to meet somewhere in the middle without giving them dealer names.

No movement, and it's not just that they wanted MSRP, they also had an additional $1000 of fluff and higher dealer fees. I guess people end up just walking up to a lot and buying a vehicle without any due diligence, etc. That would drive me crazy.
I am going through this process right now, I want to support local businesses but I also want a good price. If someone else is buying a product for 5% under invoice why can't I?

I went the other day and established expectations right away when I walked on the lot. I wanted to special order a JLURD with a few packages and knew a lot were now standard with MY22s, I just wasn't 100% on exterior color/interior leather choices. I said I want to support local and build rapport but being military I am not afraid of a cross country drive if I can get a better deal. I was immediately countered with "where will you get service if it's bought elsewhere?" ? I'm sure when these salespeople buy a vehicle they expect to get deals but screw random customers I guess. I did not turn into a Karen at this point, but I did suggest a change in thought process and how they could better understand the plight of military families moving around frequently.

I am still trying to deal with them since the service dept doesn't turn away modified wranglers and they offer lifetime oil changes, I don't have the good back and knees like you kids do to do my own!

Just go to Gupton, painless experience, Renee and the whole team there are great. No issues, in and out. Now......the drive back to TX might be a bit longer than it was for me to SC, but still well worth the savings. Find a local mechanic that will take care of the oil changes, you will still get the first initial ones through Jeep Wave regardless of where you buy it.

I recently went through this in VA. I don't remember, what model do you have? Mopar bumpers? And plastic or steel? For reference I have a Willys with factory plastic.

I was initially confused when I went to install my license plate and found the holes didn't line up with the dimples (see picture). Didn't want to rush anything so I put the license plate on my dash and asked around. I found out from my local jeep club forum that those holes are actually for a bracket to install.

I bought this: https://www.quadratec.com/p/mopar/f...er-jl-and-gladiator-jt-plastic-rubicon-bumper

It came in this week. This matched up with the dimples on the bumper perfectly. From the description and comments on Quadratec, it looks like this is for JL Sahara/Rubicon style plastic front bumpers, and for a Sport you wouldn't buy this and instead just screw straight into the bumper.

The instructions weren't labeled as such but it it came with self tapping T20 screws so it was useful to have that bit and a drill to do this. Unfortunately any fun custom license plate borders don't seem like they'd fit in the notches on the bottom.

Hope that helps!

I'm definitely leaning towards that route, I will at least give them what I am looking for and see what they offer. A 12 hour drive isn't bad at all and it's a good scenic route. The local place is claiming to be a volume dealer as well but I just don't see it, it's most likely the sales person throwing out anything to get the deal. I've got a lease with over a year left so I have nothing but time to kill. I'm hearing rumors of Gobi and we know Earl is coming sometime, with Zenith also in the mix those will make the color choice tough.

Yeah, and keep in mind it's not just the 5 or 6% below invoice (it was 8% total for '21), there's no BS add ons, and $499 doc fee. That's huge. I checked with other dealers in the SE, and they would do maybe 4 or 5% below invoice then tack on $1500 in doc fees. Gupton has it down to a science, exactly how it should be to buy a vehicle.

Hey guys, my friend just got an email from Gupton that his Jeep was being unloaded. He asked if I could asked or advice here. Should he ask for the paperwork to be sent before he flies up to have everything worked out already? Should be go to his credit union and get a credit loan before going and checking their rates? Does doing this cause two hits on his credit? One for the credit union and then at the dealer another day? Thanks.

He should give Walter a call. He is the Gupton Finance Manager. Even so, he is a great fella.
Walter can discuss his exact situation and let him know how to proceed.

I ordered with Renee on 12/04 and I got my VIN on 12/07. I asked Renee for the POC yesterday and what she sent me doesn’t show any below invoice prices - just the MSRP. Is this normal? The below invoice prices were shown on my build sheet in pen when I ordered. Just want to make sure I will still pay the below invoice price
