Gupton custom order timeline

After pickup I spent a night/ another afternoon in Nashville, and then drove to Gatlinburg for the weekend. The no highway route was at least 1-1.5 hours longer than the interstate...it was dark for the latter half of the trip so don't recall much of note. The first day I went to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the next Dollywood before heading towards another stop in VA.

Yeah, I'm landing at 745, hoping to be done at the dealer by lunch, hit some hot chicken at Hattie B's and be in Knoxville on the no highway route for the night, wake up before sunrise and head to Great Smokies and get some hiking in. If i can make it to Gatlinburg the first day I will.

Nice you'll be done pretty on a weekday that early. A couple things I discovered that might be helpful for others:

* Gupton is far enough from Nashville where you'll need to set no highway on the way back to lunch
* There's a bunch of Hattie B's locations. I was staying downtown but googled one 2-3 miles away and it had no wait and ample parking around it
* Download offline maps for TN, my gf's phone had no service
* Knoxville is pretty far from the park, which got SUPER busy in the afternoon (Oct is the busiest time of the year for GSMP, and it was a weekend for me). I'm not a morning person but so glad I started early. Sounds like you're prepared for that. Bring lunch to the park as you can't buy food anywhere and you really don't wanna move your car once it's parked
* Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge hotels were the most expensive out of any others I did for the whole trip
* I was late waking up the next day and Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge tourists LOVE breakfast and there were 30-45 minute lines everywhere

Ha, yeah I wake up at 4 am EST, so that's not a problem. I downloaded offline Google maps, and have the free trial for onx offroad. I'm really looking for a few off road fire trails to decent hikes. It's going to be a nice couple of days and that would be perfect. I may head towards Pisgah too on my way up towards Boone.

Anyone finance with Gupton but not have their significant other present at signing but you’re both on the loan? Were they able to e-sign? I’m running out of time and haven’t heard back from Renee yet. Otherwise I have 2 days to get a check from my bank if I finance with them before I fly down. Nothing like last minute.

Another update and plus for dealing with Gupton: got my title papers exactly on the schedule Renee and Walter told me to expect them. Thus I was able to register my Jeep in VA today! Maybe I'll save the TN plate as a souvenir.

I sent in the credit app the day before delivery since I knew I wanted the discount for using their financing.

I tried to get it done beforehand because I wanted to know the rate but they are just too busy to process ahead. Renee was kind enough to give me a ballpark on the rate they've been seeing (2.9 at the time end of Oct) so I went ahead with my CU as the !% wasn't enough to cover the difference.

People rave on Hattie B's. It was just so so to me. We have one here in Atlanta, opened about 2 years ago. Even now the lines are out the door, especially on the weekends. Every time I drive by that long line, I wonder why folks continue to crave it. I've had it 2 or 3 times in the last 2 years. Haven't been there in at least 8 months and don't miss it at all.

Come up farther north and the chicken gets worse The thing I was most surprised by was "Hot" wasn't nearly as spicy as I thought it'd be. Perhaps my tolerance has been growing for years, just figured it was gonna be much hotter. I also wanted to try Prince's because I had heard from a food podcast that they created the original hot chicken sandwich but didn't have time.
