@rubiconman - The dealer most likely has no reason to check your electronics while getting the lift installed, but please keep us informed. I really want to get the tune, but I hate to jeopardize my 9/125 warranty. I would love to be able to get the tune and keep my warranty.

Will do. After I flash the transmission back to stock, would you advise that I remove the 12+8 cable under the dash and plug the OEM harness back in? Having that 12+8 adapter cable installed is not voiding the warranty is it? It might be a tip-off that I have used Jscan or a Tazer product... not sure if those void anything. thx

PS - Holy smokes does the GDE tune make a difference! The best non technical description I have is "punchy" .... the Jeep is more punchy with the GDE tune installed.

I swapped the computer out and set the transmission back to stock before taking it in today. It is a noticeable downgrade going back to stock!

The first thing they do at service is connect a tablet to the odb port and 'check the vehicle in'. Nothing was said about any funny business during that process.

If they say anything when I pick it up I'll let you know.

@rubiconman —> How did the dealer visit go? Did they say anything about the Tune? I hope the install goes well.

The dealer visit is ongoing. When I dropped it off, they plugged into OBD for some preliminary diagnostic/general info download. That was Tuesday around noon. Nothing was mentioned then. I was expecting them to be done sometime this morning, but no luck. Today they "are having trouble with a bracket, may need to order a replacement. Will advise."

I am looking forward to installing these.

ETA: Dealership just called to say it's at the alignment shop now, next they will double check everything when it gets back, and then it's officially ready to go. I told him I will grab it tomorrow morning.

I picked it up from the dealership today. Not a word was mentioned and zero notes on the paperwork. Who knows though, I was paying them to install something for me... on a vehicle they sold me last month. If I was up there with some crazy engine or transmission problem they might 'look a litter harder' at whatever stored data is available about ECM swaps and resets.

I don't personally see how the gde tune should void the warranty, but that's like... my opinion man.

The gde is unlocking the 'natural' aka 'true' power of the engine. Now, if the engine had to be 'handicapped' because it's 'true' power would overwhelm and damage other components of the vehicle, and if there were not any less powerful engines on hand so they had to de-rate this powerhouse 3.0L diesel engine in order to use it, then maybe I would understand.

If anything breaks due to the 'added' 45HP + 90lb-ft then it was barely hanging on before, once again... opinion.

Edit: Spelling and stuff

That is great to hear. I am glad there were no headaches at the dealer. Enjoy the new upgrades.

Keep us posted on the GDE tune. It is still on my short list of upgrades. I just have to decide if I trust the motor enough to possibly throw away my 9/125 max care warranty.

So is there currently a recall on the eco diesel? Or is one expected??

My vehicle dashboard does not show any recalls as of now.

@rubiconman @Terpsmandan may I ask what are the RPMs your rigs are shitting at now? and did either of you have a scanguage 2 connected before the tune to keep eye on the soot levels and after the tune your soot level drop a lot more quickly than before?

The transmission when cold shifts at about 2000 rpm under part throttle compared to around 1600 stock (wife also has one for instant comparison). I think that it is supposed to hold the revs up while it warms up. Also the torque converter locks up much faster. Once it warms up, it lowers the sift points. It downshifts more aggressively If I’m approaching a stop and I let off the throttle while in first or second it feels like a manual that you didn’t depress the clutch.

thank you, I got the GDE tune installed yesterday and took it for a drive and noticed the shift points were higher than stock wanted to make sure it was ok and I didn't jack anything up. Also , did you monitor your soot levels before the tune? I ask because I noticed now its burning off the soot at a quicker rate than when it was stock.

The turn around was lightning fast for me a week ago…including the turn around for the TCM software at 9:00PM on a week night. Couldn’t ask for better customer service.
