  1. Do you go fishing with your Jeep? X-Rocket Fishing Rod Holders Giveaway!

At least 100 times. It is a pain, even when hitting small ponds near home. These seem well built. I am not sure how often I would run them without poles, but when needed they seem awesome. Keep Jeep’n
  2. First time changing oil on Diesel

+1 Loosen the filter housing far enough to allow the oil to drain past the o-ring. It will take a few minutes, so start with this step. If you do it right, there will be zero mess. Good Luck! Keep Jeep’n
  3. Anyone know what the buzz is all about?

+1 The buzzing sound that runs for about a minute after shutting down the eco-diesel is the def pump emptying the lines. If you just turn the ignition on and off, or start the engine for a second and turn it off, you will hear the buzzing sound. It is not related to turbo temperatures. keep Jeep’n
  4. New Jeep for me?

When I was shopping, I did not want the diesel or the SOT. I ran across a deal too good to resist. It was a JLURD in Stin-gray, loaded, matching wheels, a winch, and the OEM half doors. After 15 months of ownership, the SOT and diesel engine are by far my two favorite features. They both make me...
  5. Kentucky FS 2024 Rubicon X take off 35 inch OEM wheels and tires. NEW. $3000

Are you interested in splitting up the wheels and tires? I would be interested in the tires at the right price. I am sure others would love those rims. Let me know. Thanks.
  6. Who has run M/T tires on their daily?

I have been running the Faken M/Ts for almost 30k miles. I have done several trips of 1k miles in a single day. The tires are great. They aren’t too noisy and they’re fairly predictable in all conditions. I rotate them every 3-5k and they look great. Good luck with your decision. Keep Jeep’n
  7. Green Diesel Tune Drivability

@Mperk8 - I couldn’t agree more. I am very appreciative that we have this forum to share experiences and lessons learned. It actually adds to the Jeep owner experience. Thank you to everyone for your thoughtful and informative feedback, and keep it coming, because the info has been great...
  8. Green Diesel Tune Drivability

@Pistoloni - Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. That is exactly what I am looking for. I have read a little about the odd transmission shifting when cold, but I am not sure I fully understand it. Does the odd noice/feel occur after the tranny warms up? Does occur under both heavy and light...
  9. Green Diesel Tune Drivability

@jav_eee —> From what I read, there are multiple fuel strategies employed by our JLs (3 I think). Using certain strategies under certain conditions will provide a higher risk of the fuel flow being interrupted, which is usually the trigger for misalignment and eventual failure. By eliminating...
  10. Green Diesel Tune Drivability

@Ratbert - the fuel pump is not a big worry of mine (I simply add a little fuel treatment to ensure lubricity across fill ups). The worry is that if you mess with ECU, then Jeep may not do the fix (if/when one comes available). Also, GDE seems to believe their updates mappings actually reduce...
  11. Green Diesel Tune Drivability

Even with an extended warranty at risk, I am still strongly considering the GDE tune. I am not concerned with 1/4 mile times/speeds at all. I am primarily interested in reducing the soot being pumped back into the engine, and protecting the fuel pump (since Jeep can’t seem to find a fix). I...
  12. What's Causing Tire Cupping

@FRV I also had cupping around 20k miles on my 21 JLURD. I was also following the 5k tire rotation plan. I did an immediate tire rotation (including spare) and have kept doing rotations every 2-3k miles. So far so good. I think some of the off-road tires just need frequent rotations. Good...
  13. Question About Distance Between Regens

@IllinoisChris - thanks for sharing. I will look into it. I am sitting a 70% right now, and I am hoping the 80% threshold will trigger the regen, even though the mileage didn’t seem to trigger it. Maybe there is a number of days between regens that keeps the mileage from triggering a regen every...
  14. Question About Distance Between Regens

Quick update…. I took an extended trip in one of our vehicles, so the Jeep hasn’t been racking up any miles. That being said, the distance since last regen continues to increase. I believe it is around 1450 miles now. I am just confused, because many others stated that a regen will occur around...
  15. Question About Distance Between Regens

I am running the Scangauge 2 in my 21 JLURD. I historically have seen a regen triggered at 850 miles, even if the soot levels are below 80%. My gauge is currently reading 1100 miles since the last regen. Is anyone else seeing this same behavior? Keep Jeep’n
  16. Steering Wheel Not Centered After New LCAs

@kah.mun.rah —> you mentioned adjusting the steering wheel via the drag link bar. Assuming that works, will that correct the fact the Jeep is pulling to a side now? I am trying to understand if adjusting the drag link only impacts the steering wheel position, or if it also impacts the...
  17. Steering Wheel Not Centered After New LCAs

Thank you for the feedback - it is appreciated. I am a bit confused about wether an alignment will resolve my issue(s)? It seems like there are mixed feelings… All work was done on ramps, so all four tires always had weight on them. Yes, everything was working well before the swap. I added...
  18. Steering Wheel Not Centered After New LCAs

I finally got around to adding the LCAs from the Mopar lift kit to my 2021 JLURD. Prior to the change, everything was working well. The steering wheel was centered and the Jeep tracked in a straight line. The installation was uneventful - thank goodness. After the install, my steering wheel is...
  19. Kentucky WTB - Mopar Tailgate Reinforcement

Looking for a Mopar Tailgate Reinforcement in good condition.
  20. Yet Another Diesel Regen Question

After some reading, I am wondering the same thing. I hope renewable fuel will help keep this beast soot free. Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping that was the case. A couple acquaintances swear that they hit 8 every time and it stays there for several miles. I am just trying to establish...
