This was a YOLO decision. Also work at the dealership so they are going to let me borrow some wheels while the PCM is sent in. Also getting a spare PCM which they will do a stock flash as a backup. 0-60 without a brake torque launch was 8.18 on 37's. Between Casey250 losing about 12% torque and the rear wheels after adding 37's and JLDiesel on YouTube and the GDE posting torque at the wheels of about 470 ft.lbs, fuzzy math says I should end up with over 410 at the wheels. Considering a 392 puts 415 at the wheels, that sounds pretty good. I will post results when I get it all buttoned up.

I’ll be waiting for your result. What does a spare PCM with the stock flash cost you? This interests me a lot. My rig is brand new so I’m not that interested in voiding my warranty but with my health situation Yolo…. Damn straight!

The PCM's are about $200 and I'm not sure how much to flash but I am sure that I can trade a ride in the Jeep and food for one of my techs to hook me up. Mine isn't even a month old as I write this. I was just going to get a spare and have it sent to GDE but they are on BO and won't be in til the end of the month.

$200 seems awfully cheap for a PCM. I just had one replaced in my RAM 2500 and it was $4500
Cummins Ram's are a different story. I bought a PCM for my '13 JKR and it was around $225 I think. $200 is on par for a dealership employee.

The pcm is available from online dealers for that price.

So, got her installed. It arrived in Michigan at 9:49 am and was done and boxed by 11:12 am. I paid for next day out and back. Got it at 10:35 am, sent the trans file at 11:44, had it back within an hour. now I can't full throttle launch without pulling the t-case into 4wd unless I want to spin the rear tires. Kida of wished I added the 242 like t-case with the full time 4wd. Oh well. The throttle response is quite crisper now and it wants to hold gears longer around town instead of headed straight to eighth. I will post a fresh 0-60 soon.

If possible, can you post the part number for the PCM? It seems like a good way to go

Thanks for the write-up on your GDE tune purchase. The only thing holding me back from doing so, is that I want to keep my stock PCM and purchase a 2nd one to run the tune in.

The last time I checked with GDE and read on the 1500 forum, I understood that they are not cloning PCMs. I hate to go to my Jeep dealer to ask for this request. Is there a place/person offering this service?

Looking at the Mopar parts list, I believe the PCM number is 68256850AA.

I work at the dealership and techs are going to help me out on the flash. Not sure what the cost is yet.

Did a 0-60 run. No brake torqueing, just right foot brake to throttle. Stock was 7.49 on hers

Yup and I can self insure. According to the pundits, my 09 should have blown up three times. Got it with 53k sold it at 225k and it ran better at the end than it did in the beginning. If I was worried about reliability, I wouldn’t have done it. YOLO.
