It appears that due to a break of quality in the American education system that some folks are unaware of the difference between a break and a brake. In an attempt to help resolve this issue?, please allow me to present the following. A “brake” in this instance is a piece of equipment designed to convert mechanical energy to heat energy, using the friction created to slow the vehicle. A “break” on the other hand, has several meanings; ie to break something is to cause it to be broken or to cease..
For example: while going fast one day to break your fast, if you happen to break the brake lines on your Jeep you will likely break the plastic bumper, headlights and grill since you are unable to brake your Jeep. You might also break your heel as you applied to much pressure trying to brake your Jeep with a break in the brake lines, a problem as a heel is slow to heal. Truly a sad situation as you break your Jeep because you could not brake your Jeep because of the break in the brake lines, break your heel trying to brake the Jeep, all while missing the opportunity to break your fast.
Summation:
Brakes= good
Breaks (fast, coffee, lunch) = good
Breaks (Jeep) = bad
No Brakes = bad
No Breaks (Jeep or body) = good
No Breaks (Coffee, Lunch, Fast = bad
It is hoped this clarification will help resolve this confusing issue?
