Damn straight. Even with a 3ft torque wrench 190ft/lbs was a serious effort to do at ground level - just not enough room to get proper leverage. After the first bolt I noped out and called a buddy to bring over his ramps....Torquing to spec, 190ft/lbs, on the ground under the Jeep is a tall order. I paid the price for a few days after it did that on mine. I would “try” to support the axles on jack stands to give yourself some more room to tighten. Otherwise put on a weightlifter belt or something before you shoot your inerds out of your body![]()

Just put a bolt through the frame bracket and drop the control arm to the ground. If you mock the control arm up and get the jam nut close you can even get super close in getting the joints in phase.Love to see a pic of this. Thank you very much, it is very much appreciated. I am used to working on cars, but this is my first Jeep.My goal is to set the caster angle to 6.5 degree initially, some suggest 6 degrees and others suggest 7 degrees, so I am aiming for in between.
Take your Jeep to an alignment shop that does free diagnosis with computer print out. Up to you if you'd like them to set the toe since they are taking the time to help you out. This will help you get your before measurement of caster. Once you're back home use a digital angle finder to get your before measurement. Pick the same spot on the axle before and after the adjustable control arms are installed so you can compare. Now you can get really close on your after measurement without guessing.
3.5” lift ?This was a timely post. I put on a Metalcloak gamechanger this weekend and have the darn LCAs backwards! I need to switch them out and was trying to formulate a plan since both LCAs will have to come out. I also need to adjust caster.
Metalcloak adjusts caster with front UCAs. Can I tweak the LCAs to get my caster where I want since they will be out anyway?

Here’s the measurements I used for 3.5” on 37s to get 6.3 caster and center the rear wheels in the wheel well, and set rear pinion at 2 degrees down to keep rear springs straight…….. and yes you can set caster with lcas…… here’s side shot to see wheels in wells……

Front LCA: 24, UCA 19 3/4
Rear LCA: 20 1/8, UCA 17 1/2
Steering is definitely flighty. I imagine I am under 6* I have not measured any alignment specs yet. I had to get it all close so I could drive to work this week. I plan on dialing it in this weekend.
What is the best way to switch the front LCAs around? I will need to have both off at the same time. How should I set up my jack-stands and such? Or I could pull one out, slap the stock one in as a place holder. That way I could do this with wheels on.
