I've had the system audibly alert me, usually someone making a right-hand turn just in front of me and I'm approaching too fast, but It's never been close enough to trigger the mitigation. Has anyone's FCW gone into full emergency braking mode? If so, how did it work out?

I had mine set on braking early on in my ownership. After the first application of the emergency braking in a situation that did not require it, I set it to alert only.

The only time it ever went off on me, I was early at the light and the guy in front did'nt move.
So I moved forward but the collision kicked in stopping me from an embarrassing stupid bumper touch.

It happened to me once. Passing some cars on the Interstate and one of them decided to make a quick lane change in front of me (hey, the possibility of another car being on the Interstate is so low that looking to ensure the left lane is clear is pretty useless, right?).

The Jeep's reaction time was probably faster than mine.

I love mine. Most of the time it's like you say, somebody is turning right out of my lane onto a side street. But when it's needed it WORKS.

One day I had pulled onto a street and traffic was flowing and I looked down for a moment. I was only going about 30 MPH but a car came to a stop two cars ahead of me to make a turn across traffic. The FCW saw it and before I had time to look all the way up the tires had chirped and I was stopped well behind the cars in front.

I love it. It's faster to react than I am and I don't get false alerts.

In both my previous and current Jeeps, mine is set to alert only. After a few false positives where my Jeep braked when there literally was nothing in front of me, I decided to just go with the alerts instead of possibly being rear ended.
