Hey, was just curious if owns/ has owned either the Fox 2.0 IFP steering stabilizer or the through shaft version and if the TS is worth the extra money or not. Thanks!

IMO if you have to replace your stabilizer and have the $$, go with the TS. Otherwise I think the $$ could be better spent on other upgrades.

If you need it, it’s worth it, if you don’t, it’s probably overkill….

TS...better control off road and less kickback.

I have fox 2.0 suspension and terraflex ats. It made a huge difference in steering feel, especially on winding roads. I could easily make it loose when required. Highly recommended. Bottomline if u drove germn all your life you would love turning TS for ur need / ride.

Fox IFP over here. Easy upgrade and it goes well with the Fox 2.0 shocks I installed last week also.

For some reason, the fox ifp one caused pull on my jeep. I switched to through shaft, but got the falcon one, and I'll never do a non through shaft again

Can anyone describe the advantages of the through shaft?

Can anyone describe the advantages of the through shaft?
I was trying to explain it, then i realize AI did a better job of wording it... all of this is accurate in my experience

Consistent force: The internal volume remains constant throughout the steering cycle, which prevents the "push" and "pull" feedback on the steering wheel that is common in traditional stabilizers.

Equal push/pull assist: This design provides equal steering assistance in both directions of the steering movement, leading to a more balanced and precise feel.

Eliminates oil displacement: The through-shaft design eliminates the issue of oil displacement and the need for a larger reservoir, as the shaft stays the same length inside the stabilizer.

Neutral steering feel: It provides a more neutral and consistent damping throughout the entire range of the steering, reducing "wandering" and improving handling.

Improved performance: This allows for more accurate steering feedback on- and off-road and can be used for various wheel sizes and applications.

Reduces steering lag: It can effectively remove the dead spot often found in certain steering systems (like the JL/JT).
Enhances control: The result is a tighter, less floaty steering feel that is more responsive to road conditions, which can be especially useful for vehicles with oversized tires.

Regular steering stabilizers compress hydraulic fluid when the stabilizer's rod is pushed into the shock body by turning your wheel (since the rod is connected to the tie rod). This causes steering damping. But the closer to neutral the stabilizer's rod is, the less the stabilizer's fluid is compressed, and the less damping you get.

This is why regular stabilizers don't dampen much against steering drift or wandering linkage (as joints wear) when you're driving in a straight line. When your wheels are straight, the rod is near neutral, the fluid isn't as compressed, and the damping effect is lessened. So, when your wheels are straight, you can still experience some wandering/wheel drift/bumpsteer.

The through-shaft stabilizer applies constant damping left, right, or straight by applying constant compression to the fluid in the shock body. It does this in either direction using valves/baffles and gaskets. No matter where the rod sits in relation to the shock body, it's always providing a damping effect on the steering linkage that better reduces small, un-commanded changes in the direction of wheels/tires.

This is why, in the "olden days," you'd see big 4x4 rigs with two steering stabilizers attached to the tie rod, but pointing in opposite directions. The through-shaft does the same thing with one rod and shock body.

EDIT: Upnarm's chatbot said it better as I wrote this, probably.
