For those that flat tow your Wrangler....do you use anything (shield, film, etc) to protect the front end of your Jeep from road debris whilst being towed?
Any suggestions are welcome. We will be towing our 4xe behind a class C motorhome.

I never have, and we go to the western states where gravel and chip seal are common. And AK and Canada, which are worse. Now full disclosure, I’m not too worried about such things and I have found gravel on the cowl of towed vehicles before at the end of the day.

You do want good mud flaps on your motorhome. That will take care of what YOU kick up.

But the real hazard are the rocks kicked out by opposing traffic. All of our vehicles including the motorhome end up with paint chips primarily on the left side panels from this. There’s not much to do about that.

I have not experienced chips on the front, the hood, or the glass while towed.

Agree, the only chips I have seen are from opposing lanes. When we traveled in Alaska a few years ago, our group leader told us to tie up our rear mud flap so it would not kick up stones on the dirt roads. I didn’t believe him but after a few days I found quite a few pebbles etc on the cowl. I tied up the mud flap and I found far fewer rocks on the cowl. Evidently the mud flap would on occasion hit the dirt road and kick up rocks.

In that situation, couldn't you just close the doors on some protection?

I have had a Wrangler as a TOAD for many years. I learned early on that a TOAD cover coming in contact with the vehicle did more harm then good.

I found that the wind buffeting the cover against the paint and also road dirt/film that got in between the TOAD cover and the vehicle raised hell with the paint job..

I also learned early on, if I pulled my motorcycle trailer behind my Diesel Pusher or my motorcycle trailer behind my Wrangler, to not have a cover on the Harley. Cover buffeting sawed into the paint job on the bike..

Towed just over 2000 miles with the cover on. No issues with paint or any other damage.
I always make sure to “clean” the jeep before installing. The Rubicon vents, along with the windshield bumpers keep it from buffeting the hood too much. It is custom sewn to fit the jeep, not a generic cover. Plenty of attachment points and straps.
I love it.

I have this windshield film on mine which works great for daily driving: https://www.grab-gard.com/products/jeep-wrangler-windshield

I also have ppf, mostly for gravel I'm kicking up onto myself.

But for flat towing, I highly recommend getting a towing cover. Those other measures are going to get worn out pretty fast from flat towing, especially in areas with a lot of sand and gravel on the roads.
