I bought a similar one off of Amazon 3 years ago. It has held up well, especially after Moab, Hot Springs ORP, and similar trails. Not to mention the 60,000 miles of use. At the moment, it could use a new paint job. Planning to pull and paint soon.

Have you looked through the manual? Pages 24-30 talk about the security system, door locks included. Maybe these settings could achieve what you want.

If the sensor wires are completely disconnected, you should be good. Be sure to do BOTH tail lights. Tail lights will function as normal. I only get a "tail/blinker" out message upon start up.
