  1. portable 12 volt air compressor

I run with this one: https://www.walmart.com/ip/HART-20-Volt-Cordless-Dual-Function-Digital-Inflator-Battery-Not-Included/169558626?athbdg=null&athbdg=L1100_L1100&from=/search Not the fastest, but will fill a 35 with ease. I use it for my rear air bags when I tow. Great for an air mattress...
  2. Ebay Rubi Steel Bumper (not a knock-off) pretty legit!

Yep, shamed myself into painting it. Bought 2 rattle cans of Rust-oleum black bumper and trim paint, a pack of 320 grit paper and went after it. Pulled the end caps, dissembled, pulled bolts. Sanded, masked and painted main piece on the Jeep. End pieces sanded, painted and reassembled...
  3. Adaptive Cruise - Is it worth waiting for?

Currently at 61,000 miles on our JLURD. Probably 30,000 of that in ACC. ACC every time I hit the highway. Use it going through town in traffic a lot, let’s me go with the flow with ease. You can adjust the follow distance, too. Closer for in-town, farther away for the highway. Great for...
  4. Rough country retractable steps

Sorry for the “long overdue reply”. So, it’s been 2 years. How do you like them and how have they held up? Any off-roading with them? Looking to purchase a set and would like a little feed back. Thanks
  5. I Bought The FAKE EBay Rubicon Bumper And It's Pretty Good!

I bought a similar one off of Amazon 3 years ago. It has held up well, especially after Moab, Hot Springs ORP, and similar trails. Not to mention the 60,000 miles of use. At the moment, it could use a new paint job. Planning to pull and paint soon.
  6. Making it so doors do not unlock with interior door handle pull

Have you looked through the manual? Pages 24-30 talk about the security system, door locks included. Maybe these settings could achieve what you want.
  7. Air Lift 1000 Install - Quick and Easy

Installed a set on our 2021 JLURD a few months ago, in preparation for purchasing a travel trailer. Went ahead and got a weight distribution hitch (used) to help, too. Installation was a breeze, as stated above. Only caveat is to install both Schrader valves and run 1 air line to each. This...
  8. JLUR battery flatlining when flat towing

With the wires unplugged, the jeep will not wake up as before. Solving the dead battery issue. As a test, hook the jeep to the rv and plug everything in. Roll the drivers window down. Put the key somewhere away from the jeep. Give it about 5 minutes. Go back and use a broom stick to press...
  9. JLUR battery flatlining when flat towing

If the sensor wires are completely disconnected, you should be good. Be sure to do BOTH tail lights. Tail lights will function as normal. I only get a "tail/blinker" out message upon start up.
  10. Gratuitous towing pics

Thought I would add in a few. Original tow setup: 1998 Overland Larado 42’ diesel pusher. 8.3L Cummins / Allison 6-spd auto. 6 mpg towing the 2021 JLURD. Latest tow setup: 2021 JLURD, lift 1000 air bags and WDH. Pulling 2020 Heartland Mallard M185. 22’ overall length, about 4100lbs...
  11. Duck, duck, Egret?

Gotta love spell check. Fixed the original post.
  12. Duck, duck, Egret?

Picked this one up at MacDonalds in Ft Myers, FL. This trend is getting REAL…..
  13. Towing with 3.0 Diesel

Actually, after reading many threads here, I was quite happy with the MPG. Trailer is tall and has a bit of weight to it, considering the JLURD tow capacity is stated as 3500 lbs. Many have posted an 11 to 12 mpg rate while towing. Take out the height, and I am sure it would get better mpg...
  14. Towing aids - what's the optimal strategy?

I have a 2021 JLURD. Stock height, stock suspension. Pulling a 4100 Lb camper. 435 lb tongue weight. Air bags at 35 psi (run at 0 when not needed). Trunion style weight distribution hitch. The air bags stop the squat. The WDH stops the porposing. Drove it a bit without the WDH and it was...
  15. Towing with 3.0 Diesel

Running 315/70R17 (34.4") up from stock (33.8") on stock Rubi rims. No lift. Surface area of trailer is 90.6 sf, sloped. 74.16 sf if you take off 2' for the bottom. Jeep is 6' tall, so trailer sticks up about 5'-3" above it. That leaves about 42 sf above the Jeep. Dry weight is 3632 lbs...
  16. Towing with 3.0 Diesel

Just finished up a 1,315 mile, one-way trip from Missouri to Florida. We got out late for our semi-annual winter escape to Florida. Made a 5-day trip out of it, as I still had to work (remotely) every day. Left on Sunday night and watched the Super Bowl on the phone as we went. Drove thru...
  17. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

Good number to know! Makes me feel better. We just purchased a 2020 Heartland Mallard M185 Bunk house. Dry weight is "supposed" to be 3526 lbs, but we know better. GVWR is listed as 4450 lbs. Hooked it up to our 2021 JLURD with: Air bags, trunnion style weight distribution hitch, Mopar brake...
  18. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

So, to match the air bags I installed about a week ago, I added a weight distribution hitch to the Rubi. And wouldn’t you know it, there was a camper attached to it! 2020 Heartland Mallard M185. Drove 450 miles, out of a snow storm, to pick it up and then 450 back to home. Towed like a...
  19. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Over the holiday weekend I installed a Gobison Molle Panel Front Overhead Roof Rack in the Rubicon. My son got it for us for Christmas. Instructions were okay, but completely missed their front closure plate. Also had to trim the inside of the roll bar cover, not mentioned. Nice fit, nice...
