Yeah, I'm going to go for either that or the 200 dollar one. I'd just like to know my realistic chance of getting it for around 2000 bucks. How long do you have to purchase that warranty after you take delivery? Can you buy it up until the factory warranty expires?
I've been reading the terms and it depends based on your existing limited Powertrain warranty.I think it's either 36k or 48k miles until you can't buy these plans.

Big Day for me, My JL arrived. I purchased the Max Care Life Time Jeep warranty for $3,900 that requires $100 deductible. It saved me so much money with my 2009 JK! I will keep both in my family until we reach a million miles or die! It’s worth every penny if you plan to keep the JEEP long term.

Can you give us some details on your experience using this plan? I'm interested as well and would imagine I would be putting it to good use. Just don't want to be disappointed.

You can save tons by getting these online. A few to choose from that offer the max care warranty for life. Dealers don’t even want to try and compete most of the time, and you’re literally getting the exact same product for $1000 less or much more (Ziegler just to make at least one that sells online)

What happens if your vehicle gets totaled? Does the life time warranty transfer?

My guess would be no since it's tied to that vehicle. It'll move with the vehicle to different owners but not to another vehicle. Just my 2 cents.

2005, 153k. Honestly there aren't many aftermarket modifications because all my money has been poured into fixing the damned thing.

A previous owner lifted it about 2", apparently just springs, no other changes I've found. Slightly larger tires (approx 31").
I admire your willingness to make a list. My '05 LJ and I salute your bravery, prior to placing my head back in the sand.

If you buy them online, are you tied to the FCA dealership, or can you buy ones that allow independent shops to do the work?

That's a big factor that I won't have to deal with. Low mileage and easy driving on our part. If the vehicle wasn't already so pricey for us I might consider it but I'll likely skip it.
It is pricey but if you're keeping your vehicle that long, may be worth it to reconsider. Whether you off road or not, newer vehicles have more and more electronics on them and one part failing could pay for itself, or a large part of it, especially with the remote suspension stuff on the rubicon, the 8.4 with navigation, etc. Or you can buy it 3 years down the road before the regular warranty runs out without much change in price. Plus you will have a better idea of how long you're keeping it. I've planned on keeping quite a few vehicles a long time when I bought them, only to see me trading them in before the initial warranty was up. But if you are buying your extended warranty at a dealer when you buy the car, negotiate the warranty price just like everything else. Tell the dealer you can get that same $3900 lifetime warranty with a $100 deductible online for $3030. It's the same warranty you're buying at a dealer. People will drive across 3 states to save a grand on a 40k car, but give it right back with the extended warranty.

If you buy a non FCA one, you may save a few dollars, but in my opinion the headaches won't be worth it. You can buy a 55k rubicon and get lifetime max coverage with a $100 deductible for $3k and can have that serviced at any FCA dealership, no matter where you go, without question. Extended warranties on household products can run 10-20% or more for an extra year or two of coverage. This is less than 5% in most cases and covers the product for life with a reasonable deductible. Or you can buy the zero deductible for less than 10%.

Something else to consider: FCA accessories installed by authorized dealers are also covered. The way I see it, one could build that crazy Mojito Rubicon and have lifetime warranty on the whole thing...

I've never had an extended warranty of any kind on anything but I am strongly considering this. I wonder how often they deny a claim, etc. There's probably a lot of fine print somewhere. I looked all over the Ziegler website and the FCA brochure but couldn't find it.

This year I’ve decided to keep track of the number of hours my Jeep is functional (not driven...merely functional). So far it’s at 7.

Yes, 7 hours in 11 full days. Not entirely the Jeep’s fault, but still depressing.

The point you make about increasing electronics and decreasing reliability is something I know well. Since leaving auto mechanics decades ago, I've been in field service in other industries with the current being the Medical field. I experience first hand the frenzy manufacturers have of loading-up equipment with fancy electronic systems and gadgets. It definitely cuts down the reliability. This does concern me with the Jeep.

I'm not opting into the Technology or Cold package or Alpine or any other extras which I can do without but there's still stuff in there such as the electro-hydraulic steering system. I'd like to get that lifetime warranty but the cost of the Sport model I plan to purchase is already making it prohibitive. Maybe in a couple years after purchase I could absorb that cost. I'll have to wait till I've driven the Jeep a bit and ponder on the cost benefits. Extending the finance period an extra year could make that cost manageable. Coming from someone who does all their own repairs (saves on labor) it's a little tougher to swallow.

I see posts stating $3030 for the Lifetime Warranty. When I fill out the online form I'm getting $3965 with the $100 deductible. Why? My state maybe?

I'm seriously considering this. Since it covers so much more than the Powertrain Warranty, heck even shocks, it appears much more attractive. For $3030 I'd be much more likely to grab it but for almost $4k, I don't know.

To roll this in with the financing I imagine I'd have to purchase it at dealer same time as the vehicle?

A few things to note: "Lifetime Maximum Care ends on the date of sale or transfer or when an individual claim meets or exceeds the fair market value of the vehicle at the time of claim or when the total amount paid for all claims under the warranty exceeds the purchase price of the vehicle."

Must be the Florida thing. I just ran it through using Florida ($3965) and Minnesota ($3030) one right after the other. That's crazy.

Yes you would have to purchase at the dealer to roll it in with financing, unless you refinance later.

Interesting about the ending of the warranty when it reaches the fair market value or purchase price. I wouldn't worry too much since they hold their value and that would be a LOT of repairs to hit that. At which point it really would have paid for itself.

My question is whether they will offer the Lifetime warranty on the diesel wranglers because they didn’t on my father in law’s 2014 3500 with a diesel. Wonder what the logic is with fca?
