For the $100 deductible one, I am curious to see how low I can negotiate to from $5300.

They also had a 100K (I think) maintenance plan for $1400. Not sure what it all included besides the major maintenance intervals.
I'd love to see what is included in that, but I do like to do my own maintenance, especially on my Jeeps. It is good for the soul. If it included extending the warranty to 100k, that would be helpful.

It's around somewhere. The Mopar warranties are called a stated warranty. They say they cover x,y,z, and thats it. If it is a smaller component that causes failure, its not covered. find an exclusionary warranty. That will state, it doesn't cover x,y,z. Much more comprehensive.
exclusionary warranty..... where to get them??????

Is there a list of stuff it does cover?

Speaking as someone who has in the last 2 years:
  • Rebuilt my rear diff. Twice. At my expense.
  • Replaced my factory rear locker because it blew up taking out the rear diff, hence the 2nd rebuild in 9 months.
  • Replaced my front axle because I got bad advice when I started hearing a noise from the front diff, and tore it up.
  • Had my manual transmission entirely rebuilt.
  • Replaced the ball joints twice, the second time because my new (used) front axle had bad ones.
  • Replaced my clutch and throw-out bearing, probably because the transmission needed that rebuild.
  • Replaced all 4 wheel bearings.
  • Replaced each front-end steering component, at least once.
  • Replaced every throttle-related sensor, at least once.
...I'm dead sick of fixing stuff and being too broke to actually upgrade anything, and a lifetime warranty, even if it costs too much and covers too little, is very appealing.
That’s a huge amount of expensive failures. What’s the year, mileage and extent of aftermarket mods?

2005, 153k. Honestly there aren't many aftermarket modifications because all my money has been poured into fixing the damned thing.

A previous owner lifted it about 2", apparently just springs, no other changes I've found. Slightly larger tires (approx 31").

A friend that owned an ‘11 JKR had front end problems; CV joint rebuild with only 100k miles. He only had a Teraflex spacer leveling kit, aftermarket wheels with 33’s; other than that trouble free.

I almost bought a 2017 2 door JK WIllys Wheeler W back in November. I inquired about the lifetime warranty. This is the pricing I got from the dealer:

LIFETIME MAX CARE
$0 DEDUCTION: $5795
$100 DEDUCTION $3965
$200 DEDUCTION $3640

Here's a link to the FCA brocure: https://www.mopar.com/content/dam/mopar/pdf/mvp/2016-12%20MVP_New%20Maximum%20Care%20Web.pdf

Obviously I'll get new pricing when I order my JL and try to negotiate it down, but I'm strongly considering it. I keep my vehicles pretty much forever and this looks like it actually covers quite a bit.

When I had my Challenger Scat Pack I spent a LOT of time researching the lifetime plans and cost. Unfortunately FCA did away with lifetime plans on SRT vehicles. Fortunately, I didn't buy a warranty plan because I traded it in on my big bear, Anyway, you can buy the plans much cheaper online, or use the online prices to negotiate with the dealer. And yes, like everything else, dealers mark up warranty plans like everything else they sell. Anyway, this is one of the cheapest I found. You can play around with coverages, mileage, length of coverage, etc and get quotes without giving any personal information or talking to anyone.

Forgot to add the price on their max coverage, lifetime plan with $100 deductible was $3030, as compared to almost 4k someone quoted previously. Dealer markup, because you know this place is still making money too.

Thanks for the link.

I hope to be able to use this as leverage so I can purchase the warranty from my dealer.

Does anyone have experience with these FCA backed warranties? Good or bad feedback would be very helpful. I'm trying to find any fine print and the lifetime warranty appears to be a good deal if one plans to keep their car over 7 years. The only thing that stood out to me is that maintenance isn't covered, but some of the covered parts really only break if maintenance is not done on time. For example, timing belts/chains, tensioners, water pumps are all serviced preventatively as part of maintenance. I'm curious what has been experienced by folks who've had these plans and issued claims against them.

What is the current price of an FCA lifetime powertrain warranty?

Big Day for me, My JL arrived. I purchased the Max Care Life Time Jeep warranty for $3,900 that requires $100 deductible. It saved me so much money with my 2009 JK! I will keep both in my family until we reach a million miles or die! It’s worth every penny if you plan to keep the JEEP long term.

Yeah, I'm going to go for either that or the 200 dollar one. I'd just like to know my realistic chance of getting it for around 2000 bucks. How long do you have to purchase that warranty after you take delivery? Can you buy it up until the factory warranty expires?

I'm really on the fence with the extended or lifetime warranties. I currently own 2 Toyota vehicles, 14 yrs 183k miles and 22 yrs 202k miles. The hardest repair I've had to do on them besides regular maintenance/wear items is a wheel bearing and shocks and I do all my own work. That makes it not worth it in my mind.

I'd likely keep a new Jeep 10-15 yrs, average 6-7k miles a year and driven like an old lady mostly (the wife though shes not old).

I look at it more like insurance. It gives you peace of mind. Most vehicles I've owned never would have needed it. I also like the idea because I run my Jeeps off road and put the drive trane through much more stress than any of my other cars or trucks.

That's a big factor that I won't have to deal with. Low mileage and easy driving on our part. If the vehicle wasn't already so pricey for us I might consider it but I'll likely skip it.
