Something I wasn't aware of was that I had to pay sales tax on the Service Contract. On my $2665 at 7.25% tax was $193 on top of the $2665. Anyone else paying sales tax? I hadn't heard it mentioned or discussed.
I didn't pay any tax.

I have to pay sales tax as well. In FL, state sales tax is 6% plus county sales tax at 1%. Palm Beach county only charges 1% sales tax for the first $5,000 for large ticket purchases like cars and boats. After $5,000, there is no county tax so the total tax is 6% for the remainder of the purchase price.

It's prorated/refundable. Except for FL and NC residents (both buyer and seller), it's non-transferable to the next owner. See above.

Just paid sales tax for my JL and found out that FL does not charge sales tax on out of state purchase of extended warranties ... FL only charges sales tax for in-state (FL) sales of extended warranty.

Does anyone know or has asked how modifications like lifts and bigger tires affect the warranty?

I asked Tom and he said "I recommend a call to Mopar at 800.521.9922 with any lift questions you may have. They will advise you on the modifications that will not void your Mopar extended service contract. "

So I guess I have to call mopar and ask

What about maintenance? Does it have to be done at a dealer?

I called mopar about installing a lift and bigger tires while having the maxcare warranty and they said it's the dealers call really. Which is true if they can prove that the tires or lift cause the problem they probably wont warranty the problem.

About maintenance Tom said
"It is not necessary to have it done at the dealer, just make sure it is completed properly and on time according to your owners manual."

Awesome. I just picked up some Rubi takeoff wheels and tires and I'm not planning on doing a lift, so I am thinking all should be good in my world. I'm really thinking hard about the warranty since I will either be keeping this for myself for a long time, or it might get passed on to one of my kids as they get a little older (they have both shown interest). It's the first Jeep in our family, so a Lifetime warranty is likely a great way to go.
