  1. Passenger air bag and putting things on the grab bar safety question

Just my two cents… air bags are complicated devices that rely on a lot of data collected by the crash sensors to inflate the air bag at the exact moment your head is in an optimal window of deployment. The events and decision to deploy are in tenths of milliseconds and the exact thickness of...
  2. Battery / Trickle Charging / Increased MPG?

Update: Had a chance to make another 120 mile trek on the freeways today. The battery was fully charged, tank full...and eagerly awaited the results. After the trek...the dash reported 25.4 MPG. After fill up, it seemed it was actually a bit better coming in at 25.6. Both methods are pretty...
  3. Battery / Trickle Charging / Increased MPG?

I have a 2018 JLUR and have replaced the main and aux battery three times so far. I just crossed 60,000 miles. During the first few years of ownership, I used it to commute to work but now I am lucky to put 3000 miles on it a year. So it sits in the garage a lot waiting for its next...
  4. Uconnect, “Device not supported”

Had them replaced three times under warranty.
  5. Plus one to the death wobble

As many have said on this forum DW can be caused by a number of suspension components. On older JLs those with aluminum steering housings, this can also be the cause. I went through replacing almost all of front suspension before finding it was actually the steering housing flexing so much...
  6. A

First, I am very glad you are okay. I worked for many years as Safety Systems engineer designing airbag systems. I would recommend you get an attorney and get a copy of the Jeeps safety system data that is stored in your Jeep. It will let you know the speed at which you were traveling and...
  7. Factory extended warranty worth it?

I was one of those people that bough the Lifetime Warranty - that covers just about everything. It cost me about $2K. So far at 57,000 miles it has saved me a ton, not including the saving on a rental car. I have had the following replaced: two front track bars, one rear track bar, one drag...
  8. Help me find the cause of the wobble please..

Had a bad case of death wobble recently. Went through the usual inspections and found nothing loose or damaged. My JLUR has 58K miles on it so I was thinking it could easily be a bushing. After playing with new track bars, steering stabilizers, drag link none of these really solved the...
  9. Dealerships with 100,000 mile/lifetime warranty

Thought I might throw my two cents in. I have 2018 JLUR. Have roughly 58,000 miles on it so far and I although I initially thought purchasing the lifetime warranty option was a mistake I have since realized the importance of any extended warranty you can get your hands on with a JEEP..unless...
  10. Shore Power - AC input

thank you all for your great replies. Lots of great ideas. The 4XE charge door and stuff are a bit pricy but I think it will look the best and be convenient for what i need. Going to give it a shot at least. Thank you all again for the great information.
  11. Shore Power - AC input

thank you this is the starting point. Glad to see someone else has already achieved it. Now to tackle the issue.
  12. Shore Power - AC input

Hi there, Like many of you, I have had my issues with battery drain, replacing batteries, aux batteries, etc.. My JLUR is just not driven enough to keep the batteries charged. Its been recommended to use a battery tender but if I have to hook up AC power to the JEEP why not do some other things...
  13. Screen Protector?

I have on order from Quadratec on back order since Feb. Still nothing. I have tried ordering it from other locations only to get a dropped order after the fact when they realize they don't have that size either. 7" Unconnects...no problem apparently.
  14. Quadratec Customer Service Nightmare

I ordered a screen protector for my radio in February from Quadratec after having my radio replaced the first time. Still haven't received the part ... its still on backorder. Good thing too....the radio died again...so new radio going in....at least I didn't have to get another screen...
  15. Uconnect, “Device not supported”

Not happy today when it started in my Jeep. I will let it sit for a while and hope it goes away. UGH....should be a simple restart computer button somewhere. Doesn't matter what USB port I try...it comes up so fast after dismissing the screen, I just had to turn off the display and not use...
  16. Electrical issue, computer or battery?

Not sure if its relevant but it sounds familar. Had a dead battery that would not hold a charge then my dash would not turn off. I had to take my JEEP in. Turned out there was a bad electrical draw that was causing my battery to drain quite rapidly. Long story short...it turned out to be...
  17. No start, dash and wiper freak out, battery disconnect sparking on reconnect

Ok...after two months they seem to have isolated the issue and returned my Jeep. Items replaced: Main battery Aux battery HVAC Module HVAC switch / Center Stack control (rear window defogger shorted) Radio 8.4" Seems okay now....we will see. Stay tuned.
  18. No start, dash and wiper freak out, battery disconnect sparking on reconnect

My symptoms were identical to yours. It turns out the main AC Fan switch shorted out...causing the batteries to drain. I am still trying to wrap my head around that since these things are supposed to be able to be submerged in water? Regardless part 6BE14DX9AC seems to be on back order...
  19. Instrument Cluster Turning Off While Driving

Had a similar problem..that started on 12/1. On 12/2 my JLUR wouldnt start. Thought it was the battery..and a simple fix. Nope. My Jeep is still at the dealer, as they try to figure out what is causing the short. So far, batteries replaced a bunch of computers, control modules, fuse box...
  20. Anyone know what this is?

what was the cause of the electrical issue. Having my own at the moment...one month and counting at the dealer
