Most thefts posted on YT are using the huge antenna to relay the signal. Since this is the easiest and fastest method. But yes they can tow your JL or hotwire or program a new key etc. Just is not as easy or as fast. If they really want it - they will probably get it.

Seems they target a specific vehicle to fulfill an offshore order - then simply go get it. So just get a Faraday Box and put all your keys in it. Works a charm and is a super cheap deterrent.

Just check that your box works 100% and completely blocks the signal. Ours does - so all is good. Same with a hood lock and gas cap lock all keyed alike - 100% worth it. Takes your chances. Roll the dice.

;)
Sadly the only real way to make sure that no RF leakage from the faraday is present is to use a Spec A tuned to the fob frequency. Wish auto manufacturers kept up with RFID and security technologies. Nothing is foolproof but there should be something better than what’s being implemented
Old spoofing tech made new again.

May not be foolproof
But you can check for any practical leakage like this:

1 Put your fob in your console cupholder
Press your dash start button
JL should start

2 Now put your fob in your Faraday box and close clasp
Press your dash start button
JL should not start

With any luck this should foil a real world relay attack
Unless the scumbags can super amplify any leakage
Which may or may not be known "unless attempted"

Until then - am ok to leave my fobs in my Faraday box
As that is at least 100-200x better than nothing

Generally the scumbags are way ahead of FCA etc

I think this is a good idea. Test your Faraday Pouches and Boxes this way.

So, I ordered and received a Faraday Box from Amazon, for $15. Its big enough for 6 of our monster key fobs. Now, I can sleep better at night.
How does that help to stop it from being clone? Aren't they cloned when you hit the button?
Note: I use this as my hide-a-fob to keep a spare fob in the vehicle: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H1C21O2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But it is there in case I lose my fob out in the woods. Not to prevent cloning.

We tested two different Faraday containers over the weekend. They were a wallet and a purse my wife had purchased. We put her key fob in either of them and closed them up tight. Then we tried to start her Jeep with her key fob inside the vehicle, but inside the Faraday container. The Jeep started right up with both of them. Then we wrapped her Key fob in aluminum foil and tried again. The Jeep wouldn't start with the key fob wrapped in aluminum foil. The dash displayed "Key fob not in vehicle" when she tried to start it.

So, be sure and test the Faraday container you buy. Just because it says it is a Faraday container doesn't mean it actually works. I suspect there are a fair amount of scam artist selling "Faraday containers".

The lowly sport saves the day... Cant open my doors with out a physical key. Or a rock, or a pipe, or a literally anything dense thing.

Jeep Wrangler JL Faraday Box, for the Key Fobs 1699908246654

This is not rocket science. Stop paying for bags on Amazon that don't even work. Put your key in a METAL box, or even tin foil. (see below) Even an Altoids box works. It's not magic. Metal blocks the signal.

Hi,
Big problem over in the UK, so called 'comfort access' has become more and more standard. A solution to a problem that didn't exist before. It's resulted in some makes becoming uninsurable in certain areas - mainly Jaguar /Land Rover products, the Range Rovers being a particular favourite. BMW also had issues.
The first thing we've done with the Supra and Wrangler is disable it and stick the keys in a pouch. Fortunately over here a yellow 2 door is not such a high risk, sorta stands out.
Big thanks to the marketers for creating an un-needed problem. Don't get me started on stop start....

The Poor Man's solution for other trims would seem to require nothing more than unplugging the individual door harnesses in each footwell.

While doing so would prevent the windows from being raised or lowered, it would also render the power- and proximity-locking/unlocking features non-functional, thus compelling the use of a physical key to unlock the front doors, yes?

Any chance you can post the Make, Model, and a Picture of the failed Faraday Pouches/Boxes?? So that other members don't make the mistake and buy them. .
