key fobs aren't working

This sounds like the problem may have been a crusty battery node. It does happen. If the fob starts the Jeep with no issues going forward I would suggest investing in one of the packets of red battery terminal goo they sell at the part store. $1 is a small price to pay for the peace of mind.

The main battery is a month old and everything looks clean. I didn't mess with the terminals other than to touch them with leads from my VOM.
