If a Rubicon JL is an inch taller than a Sport and you install the same complete suspension lift of say 3", wouldn't the Rubi and Sport be the same height after if each got the same work done? Springs, shocks, control arms and track bar. I'm assuming all parts are the same dimensions aside from the springs and shocks from the factory. If that isn't the case, then obviously my first question is already answered.

Yes, they would be the same height. (Assuming same tires too, which you didn't mention). The springs control the height.

I put a 2 inch mopar lift on my Sport & it raised it about 3 inches. I was told it would raise a Rubicon 2 but others will get 3-4. Not sure if that means anything concerning your post, but there it is.

So a Rubicon with the 2" Mopar lift is ultimately the same height as a Sahara/Sport/Willys with the same 2" Mopar lift, assuming they have the same tires.

If you install the 2" MOPAR lift on a Sport and a Rubicon (assuming otherwise identical vehicles, plastic bumpers, same wheels/tires/etc), two things will be true:

1. The Sport will gain closer to 3"+ of height, while the Rubicon will only get ~2"
2. The Sport and Rubicon will both be the same height

The *change* in height will be different, since they have different starting heights. But the *final height* should be identical.

That is where I was confusing myself. The net change is different but resulting height is the same. Thanks all for clarifying. Not sure why I was hung up on this but I am no longer.

I also just learned the Rubicon fender flares are like 2” taller than Sports which would make the Rubi seem taller even if not. I need some of those….

I'm often occupied, by many things, often at the same time

Thank you!!!! I was going to post the same thing, because I've seen these threads go pages of responses that just confuse the issue, when ultimately people are getting hung up on the change from starting point.

Just as said above. The other thing that can cause confusion (and mentioned in another post) is that the Rubicon flares are different and cut higher. If you install the same lift springs on a Rubicon and Sport, and using the same tires, the Rubicon will have a higher reading if you measure to the wheel wells/flares.

I didn't realize how much of an impact those fender flares have. I NEED them...

I went to a dealership recently after closing and measured the front fender height and width difference on a Rubicon using a level and tape measure. I came up with approx 1.5” taller and .75” wider, if this helps anyone.
I’m buying a set of takeoff fenders and wanted to know what the difference was going to be.
