All that really happens is it pops up with little message that tells you that nothing has changed in your vehicle but where the power is coming from. This thread explains how the IBS reads voltage and current, and that information is used to compute stats about the life of the battery.The IBS isn’t a voltage sensor, the PCM detects voltage directly. The IBS is a temperature sensor.
