I’m leaning to agree with Jeep Wick that the starter may have crapped. But from what I can see on the service site I use it could be fuel related.

I’m guessing a bit since I don’t have one. The eTorque motor / alternator is powered by your 48V battery, not the 12V. If that system is fubar it should be throwing all sorts of error codes (battery pack modules with JScan, I don’t know about Tasar). Jumping the 12V is only going to help if it doesn’t have enough juice to run the electronics.

The 48V battery sys is also what keeps the 12V battery charged.

eTorque doesn’t have the solenoid engagement with the engine that old time starters used, but something else could click - a relay or something - if the engine doesn’t start.

Can you scroll through your driver pages and see what the system thinks your voltage is before you attempt to start it?

I hate reading this story… hope you get it resolved. I am half way to Moab as we speak, towing my 3.6 eTorque behind our RV for almost a week’s worth of wheeling. Looking for wood to knock on. Not so easy to find real wood around these days!

Good luck and keep us posted on culprit.
We are staying in Moab North Sun Resort Park. Enjoy your trip!

What were the codes?
I pulled the Tazer as I have given up and am now getting it ready to winch onto the trailer for the dealer. I have to take the Tazer off before leaving it with them. There were 30 or so codes. I also have to take off the battery skid plate or they will charge me their labor rate for that as well. On top of that, I remove all my tools and anything that is not bolted down inside…

Full voltage, but I believe that reads the main battery and not the 48v. I might be wrong on that.

Has fuel and the fuses for the fuel system are fine. I would think that if it was fuel related it would crank several times.

I appreciate the help from everyone. I have thrown in the towel. The group I am with has several Jeep veterans like myself and many with far greater mechanical skills than I have and we have tried everything we can to get it to start. If it was a broken axle, suspension piece, brake line, or even traditional starter, we would have fixed it by now. It is something with the 48v or starter and those are not items available here in Moab. Nor is it worth messing with them if I have the extended warranty. We all know the minute I start attempting to fix something like that, the dealer will say I screwed it up! I just hope the warranty engine is not locked up. The coolant levels are all fine and it ran perfectly without any noise or heat issues prior to turning it off.

I will update this thread once I hear back from the dealer. Fortunately, this is not my daily driver. I was hesitant on ordering the etorque for this very reason. Unfortunately, at the time it was the only way to get the 3.6l and the 392 was still up in the air for whether Jeep was really going to make it. Of course a few months after I received my JL and had already put the lift and regear on it, Jeep announced the 392.

hopefully it is something simple that they can find right away. So weird Moab does not have jeep dealership.

Pick up a couple six-pacs of Utah brewed beer (didn’t have such a thing when I lived there; we had to drink 3/2 beer). It will be one of those trips you remember a long time.

It just sucks as I took the Jeep to the dealer last month as it was throwing a couple of codes and they said they could not replicate once they cleared them. The engine was already replaced at just 22,000 miles! That happened just as we hit Lake Tahoe for the Rubicon trail and ruined that trip. Just 10,000 miles later at this comes up, ruining another trip to Moab. Now I need to rent something to go out on the trails as the nearest dealer told me they would not look at it until next week so no help there. At least I have the extended warranty due to the engine replacement. If I did not have so much money dumped into this I would sell it. @JeepCares

I've not looked at mine, but can this engine be rotated with a wrench to verify it is or isn't locked-up?
This is the next step.

Again OP to be clear by one crank you mean it sounds like one revolution or partial revolution of the engine?

It is not fuel related.

Etorque models still have a normal starter for the engine to start.
