I was told today by Shawn at Chapman that they are not discounting builds below MSRP.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Congrats Brent, and now w/ gas prices shooting to the moon a 1100 mile drive would really cut into your savings :(

In a way, I was bummed about no deals in PA. I'm another way, it made me feel like at least I tried, and I didn't feel quite as bad at basically paying MSRP. This really is my yolo vehicle, so nothing practical about it anyway, what the hell. I'm super excited now. Told it takes about two weeks to get my vin.

Two weeks for a VIN? I got mine the next day and I'm fairly sure that's not that unusual.

Interesting, and unfortunate if that is the case. However, Shawn isn’t one of the names I’ve seen as a contact for Horsham before. Others may want to try Tom or Ashley before giving up.

As long as you have the VON, Jeep chat will give you the VIN when it’s available.

Not a huge deal, you'll love it either way! I only got 1000$ under MSRP as I wanted to stay local and couldn't justify the trip.

Well, I'll close this thread out... Duped or not, she's supposedly gonna be here in 3 months ;)
The closest participating dealer in PA is no longer offering a discount. MSRP on any custom orders. So I did a little better than that and stayed local. I'm not into the Tennessee road trip idea. I CAN'T WAIT! See you guys soon, you'll be sick of me in no time :)
Good for you. Welcome to the club. It’s a fun hobby you can enjoy for a lifetime.

The difference between a great deal and MSRP is only about $6000. These days you can spend that much on lift, wheels, and tires (and a like amount on all sorts of other Jeep goodies every few months for years!) In the long run the extra money you spent may be a drop in the bucket, and you’re getting what you want from the local guy without the inconvenience of leaving town.

$6k is about 1k gallons of gas, and that doesn't last long :(

Sad but true! ;) They did lower the price below MSRP and it wasn't a high pressure thing. I am overall happy with he experience besides not being able to knock 3-5 k off sticker like days gone by. I feel ok about it after learning the PA place wasn't playing ball and knowing that. Too lazy to actually fly to a dealer to save that money.
Now I'm excited and hopeful that it actually gets built and delivered in a timely fashion with the world crumbling around us.
To be honest, the prospect of even higher gas prices isn't thrilling me but I'm sticking to my YOLO guns for now.
Just to clarify, there was nothing shady about my dealer. I was initially concerned that the wording on the paperwork didn't indicate a Willys, and that was just my lack of familiarity with their process I guess. All good :) can't wait for my first jeep wave!
