Earl vs Anvil

I painted my house a color close to Anvil because of my Anvil JK. Lol. Great color.

Anvil house with Cedar accents to match the NC red mud.

Lol, I painted an accent wall in my master bedroom the same color.

My JK has the half doors and I cant tell you how many people have tried to buy them just because of the color.

Right after I bought my Commando Green JK, Anvil came out. I really like the CG color, but I liked the Anvil just as much. Anvil changes shades, more than any other Jeep color, based on the light it's in. I direct sunlight or under fluorescent lights, it could almost look like it has a lot of light blue in it, then at night or on a cloudy day it can look very deep, almost dark grey. It's a great color.

Anvil is the best Jeep color ever. Like "Earl", it changes color in the sun, but in a good way. Earl turns into an effeminate mint color in the sun (but not the shade - see comparison sun & shade pix below), whereas Anvil switches from blue to gray. I planned on buying an Earl jeep until I parked my Anvil next to it to compare the difference.

I loved the Earl Grey on Jeeps build site until I actually saw it in person and it does have a sea foam, minty green appearance, to much green for my liking, I for one am glad they went back to Anvil.

Here is (was) my JKUR 10A in Anvil.

Anvil looks more darker-grey-ish in person, while Earl looks more lighter-mint-ish in person.

I remember around 2013 when Jeep introduced the Anvil color on the JK, a car magazine article mentioned that the Jeep designer got the idea of Anvil from a trash bin at the factory...... ?
