Dynatrac Ball Joint install question

Install DT ball joints today. Got the ball joints and knuckle installed. Both upper and lower castle nuts are torqued to DT spec. The cotter pin holes line up. But I wasn't expecting such gaps between the knuckle and axle C. Take a look at Pic. Are those gaps normal? Also the snap ring is installed on the upper.

It’s right, mine are in Reid’s but still see a gap…
