Dumb question...fuel cap door

My 2023 stock Rubicon gas cap looks pretty much like the others pictured...

I like that it reminds you it's a Jeep when you open the door. Just in case you forget...

My jeep is a 4xe which has a pressurized fuel tank. There’s a button inside the cabin to open the fuel door. When you press that button, the jeep will depressurize the fuel tank and the fuel door won’t open until the depressurization is complete (only takes a few seconds). The rubber stopper is a spring that pops the fuel door open once the lock is released.

I’ve never tried hanging the fuel cap off of the rubber stopper, didn’t think to do it, but I also don’t think the fuel cap tether is long enough. I’ll have to try it and update this post.

I checked my door this morning and it indeed says "FUEL". Forgot to see if it has anything neat on the other side. Probably says "fuck you, pay me" ?

Clearly a thing to prevent any lawsuits by drunk or otherwise idiotic people who might want to plug their EV charger into it and blow themselves up ? Mind you somehow, someone will claim that FUEL means battery

Dunno— Fuel to me has always meant Diesel Fuel or Nitromethane not Gasoline . Potential lawsuit if I ruin it with the first or grenade it with the second. After all, it doesn’t specify Gas only . ?
