Just filled up a few hours ago and honestly can't say that I recall ever looking at the damn thing that closely to notice what it says. Instead, I'm always thinking "how can I hang this stupid gas cap so it ain't touching my paint and why doesn't this fuel door come with a spot to stick it?" ?‍♂
I did this. It’s not pretty, but I had an extra hook with double sided tape in my spare hardware box and it works so…. ?‍♂

I realize the inner part of the gas cap looks like it’s touching the fender, but it is not. I’ll take a better pic later.

2021 Sahara 4xe has the door with FUEL on the outside and JEEP on the inside.

We suggest you get up off the couch and go outside and find out....

I fueled today and can't remember either. Don't remember anything so could be either.
I actually started to go outside and then realized it was dark and raining. Figured my curiosity could wait a few more hours.

Really hoping mine says Fuel on the outside and Jeep on the inside. That way I don't get confused ?

I've seen the hook idea and was planning on doing that myself eventually, but I'm more intrigued by the black rubber stopper on your door. Did you add it yourself and couldn't that be used to hang the gas cap by inserting it into the inside of the cap? Don't remember seeing that stopper on mine or anyone else's before.

Yikes. Hard pass. Thanks though.
I was like, ah c'mon how much could a fuel door be?! A quick google search later reveals $250+. You got to be kidding me?!?!? I'm with you on this. I do like the FUEL one better though.

This is the one I put on my Willys. I didn’t want one that said Jeep, because it’s obvious what it is.
Here’s the part number 68330920AE. It’s gone up almost 3x since I bought mine.

Sorry I had to laugh at this post. You didn’t want a fuel door that says Jeep because it is “obvious what it is”… so you opted for one that actually said “fuel” instead? ? As opposed to it being the “Kool-Aid” or “beer” door…?

I guess it’s a good thing it says fuel on it, though. Will prevent me from putting sugar in your tank when you aren’t looking! ?

Don’t mind me; I’m just messing around. No reason to get your gas nozzle all twisted.

2022 Willys 2dr 3.6 eTorque and ordered 68330920AE (FUEL) and it fit perfect. Was told by dealer that 82215123AB (Jeep) would not fit?
A lot of dealers are idiots. This is the 82215123AB on my '22 2dr Willys 3.6 eTorque (which lists for years 2019-2023) fits perfectly, and has the Willys flat-fender cast inside.

Agreed dealers are about as bright as Halogens but I probably would have bought the FUEL version anyway even at +double the cost since both apparently fit.

Hahaha, yeah, I get what you’re saying. But there are just too many accessories that have the vehicle branding on them and it’s overload. That was my point. I just wanted the fuel door that gets put on at the factory.

I have to laugh when I see a car/truck/SUV that has pinstripes with the brand logo, valve stem caps, mud flaps, seat covers, receiver caps, etc all with brand logos.

I really like those lights but seen so many members with all kinds of problems I don't have any problems and don't want any. My jlr has the led lights but the flush fit looks really nice. Maybe when all the bugs are worked out and its a true plug and go.

I think there were some issues with them a few years ago when they came out, but I believe the bugs have been worked out for some time now. Mine have worked flawlessly.
I just never liked the factory tail light housings that stuck out three feet ?

I bought a cheap Amazon door, with nothing on it, for my previous JLU. It installed with no issues, and I never really thought about it again. It looked fine. I couldn't justify the cost of the Mopar offerings.

My jeep is a 4xe which has a pressurized fuel tank. There’s a button inside the cabin to open the fuel door. When you press that button, the jeep will depressurize the fuel tank and the fuel door won’t open until the depressurization is complete (only takes a few seconds). The rubber stopper is a spring that pops the fuel door open once the lock is released.

I’ve never tried hanging the fuel cap off of the rubber stopper, didn’t think to do it, but I also don’t think the fuel cap tether is long enough. I’ll have to try it and update this post.

My 2018 Sahara came with this one.
It says ‘Fuel’ on it.

My 2023 stock Rubicon gas cap looks pretty much like the others pictured...
