it will suck exhaust fumes into the interior of your vehicle. What are you trying to do poison your family. Good grief use some common sense..
Someone should let Toyota know that they’re killing families by rolling down the back window.

What kind of Toyota are we talking about? Specifically, how far from the rear window is the exhaust located? The Jeep JL exhaust outlet(s) are just below the window, which if open, catches the dirty output, especially in a 2 door with dual pipes. That’s why the rear door includes a one way vent so we get flow through ventilation without also sucking exhaust fumes.
How many people run dual pipes on a Wrangler?

Seems it would also be bad for exhaust fumes coming in; I was warned by the dealer not to drive with the rear window open - ever.

Legit question: if this is true how does putting down the soft top all the way work?

A very intelligent observation. Carbon deoxide is known as the silent killer. You are a very intelligent person.

Ive done it a few times when I was hauling something long and it would not fit inside. I watch my speed, zero issues. I hauled 4 pieces of 8 foot E track home 3 days ago. No problems.
Installing E track in my enclosed trailer to tie down new C8 that was built yesterday. Doing NCM delivery in BG march 3.

Flow through ventilation.
But what's the difference between SOT with all windows down, no rear quarter windows, and the trunk window open and soft top? Or hard top entirely off? Why is there no cross ventilation? I feel like I'm missing something.

thanks all for the answers
looks like the rear window is holding up from people who actually are opening it up and driving around.

once SOT is open, windows down and back side windows out, i don't think fumes will do anything with all the air circulation..

I drive mine all the time in the summer with the freedom panels out on my 2 door and the rear window up. it greatly reduces the buffeting in the cabin......top speed we go with window up is 45mph... no issue so far and mainly all paved roads in this configuration....dirt roads and off road the window is closed..........

I've driven many miles for years with the back window up and never had an issue myself.

Never have we ever had exhaust issue with the SOT. With the doors on or off. I have carried some 8x4 wood with back window open for few miles home but wouldn't make habit of it.

You really will feel the air if you remove the doors. It's not the openness of the hardtop but the little lady likes the SOT. I prefer my open hardtop now. I never got used to the look of the SOT open.
