thanks

I've done it and I see many do it. Hit a bump though and the window will bounce. For driving in town I don't think you would have any issues.

@Elk666

You see people doing it, but it is foolish to do ...

If window flexes, say if you hit a good bump ... the window can and will tweak and shatter.

I would not chance riding with it open. It's support struts are not made for such also.

Sure, like Jay Walking... you can probably..maybe, get away with it. I wouldn't try it/do it.

I just have the regular hard top, but the other day my dog asked if we could ride with the back window open, and I told him. "there is just no way."

it will suck exhaust fumes into the interior of your vehicle. What are you trying to do poison your family. Good grief use some common sense..

You have to be careful. The potholes and the wind will push the glass down like a spoiler.

So you know, it is a $700 piece of glass, plus labor, and weeks to get a replacement right now.

There is no reason to be an asshole about it.

Hardtop. I drive with the rear window open whenever my Lab is in the Jeep in the winter, which is often. No issues so far in 8 months. I headed to Lowe's today after the dog park at 60 mph on the main road. Maybe it will fail at some point and then I'll just pay to replace it.

Oh great! 🙄 Now I’m going to have to buy a “rear window reinforcement kit” in addition to a spare tire reinforcement kit!! What’s next? Steering wheel reinforcement? :LOL:

It would be cool if the hardtop side and rear windows were removable, kinda like freedom panels 🤔
If I had known that those panels came off back in November, before I ordered, I would have probably gotten the SOT. Until I do a rear seat delete this summer my dog doesn't have a way to put his head out into the breeze, cause he ain't sitting on my back seats! Poor beast.

I have a two door and took the back seat out as soon as I brought it home from the dealership! The next time the backseat goes back in will be the day I sell it, which isn’t gonna be for a LONG time. 👍
