If you search "door sill JLWranglerforum" on Google, you'll see all the threads on it. Personally, I hated them and used bedliner to make my own.

If you don’t have kids or vertically challenged people entering and exiting your Jeep regularly, don’t bother. There is really zero reason to step there and if soft soled footwear is used, not a big deal. I think it’s an as needed purchase. My door sills look brand new.

I've the RR sill guards. They look correct and are dead simple to install. I've no observed air gaps at the bottom of the door; I mention this because a few owners have mentioned it regarding their own Jeeps.

Agree with Mike that the sills won't really require guards if foot contact never occurs (like with myself). I just wanted the aesthetic.

Problem is it's an XR and it's just high enough to where the wife is sliding on the leather seat bolster to get out currently and the leather will be worn in no time. Rubicon has no bars/boards yet so the sill area is the only place to step without rubbing all over the bolster. Bars are on the way but both would be better imo.

I’ve been wanting to try this with the Line-x colour match, did you notice any sort of seal issues with the doors?

My wife slides off the seat too and I have side steps. I cringe every time she does it. I’m like “use the side step”! And as an added bonus, she slams the door shut like she’ll win a prize if it falls off the hinges.

That would be annoying, to be sure.

She didn't like the tutorial, but I'll admit to schooling my wife on how to shut the doors on my new Jeep, which are demonstrably lighter than the doors on the truck that preceded it. Nary a problem since that day.

I had the same thing happening.. Not her fault as she is only 5' 2.5" (yes the .5 is important ). I installed side steps and showed her the best way to use them. She does much better now.

Oh no. Not at all. I did 3 costs I think. Even LineX wouldn't be too thick. I did my hinges in it.
I was thinking of doing the inside areas that the doors cover when closed, down to the pinch seams under, a lot of gravel roads have put quite a few chips in the paint.

Whichever you get, don’t waste your money on the Mopars. They look good, but cover too little and are very expensive.

I have the Rugged Ridge ones as well - with a wife and two daughters, I figured it can't hurt (plus, I also like the aesthetic).

They fit like a glove and work well. The only negative that I've seen mentioned in threads is that they do affect the water-tightness if you do a lot of river fording. I do not, and it hasn't been a problem with the occasional puddle, heavy rain, or even power washing the Jeep.

I bought some off Quadratec the day 'after' my son and his friends got in the back with their baseball spikes on, needless to say they are now covering scratches.
