sometimes it's hard for me to wave while i'm trying to drive a manual transmission, but I hate it when you wave and you look and it's some snobby non-American-trying-to-be-cool, not that there's anything wrong with that, at least they're not driving a rice-burner with a pull string on the back, or the fat muffler sticking out at a 45degree angle, up in the air with a wing, and anything is cool, as long as it's them. But you can tell if they have the short spiked hair that they're not going to wave back. I recognize a couple guys who drive the older Jeeps and I definitely wave to them. Sometimes when you give the peace sign and get nothing it's like you wanna flip your hand around and give them half the peace sign (just kidding!). I like to give people a peace sign anyway. The Jeep wave is cool
Any snobby non Americans with spikey hair that wave to disprove this gentlemans theory?

Why is the person that doesn't wave back the one that's found fault with? Should someone decide to wave to me, why do I have to reciprocate, and if I don't, why am I the "bad guy"? Last thing I need to do is to try to be made to feel bad 'cause someone's feelings are hurt because I didn't wave back to a complete stranger. Luckily the Bronco Wildtrak replacement doesn't share the same brotherhood and I can go on with my day.

Guess I missed the part where someone said not waving makes you a "bad guy."

If you're finding fault with someone else's action (or inaction), by default you're saying they're in the wrong.

Can you point out where I assigned fault to anyone's actions? I simply asked a question. If that makes you feel at fault for your actions, that's on you.

"Why doesn't anyone wave anymore" is literally the title of the thread you started.

Correct. Again, asking a question.

Let me rephrase my answer.

Because I find complete strangers who are trying to make some sort of connection based on a mass produced vehicle as their identity through some sort of shared brotherhood is dumb. That is why I don't wave.

Better?

Then why did you register on this forum?

(I think a lot of people register as a way to make a connection with strangers based on a mass produced vehicle)

There you go! Thank you for your input. Not sure I follow on how waving is trying to make a connection, but I also grew up in rural east Texas where waving to other drivers was common place and a common courtesy, similar to the head nod when you make eye contact with someone.

I'm with you on the ducks though. Don't really understand that.

"gentleman"?
bet he can't tell us what Tribal Roll he's on that makes him not one of those pesky "non-Americans"...

waving? i'll wave at most any J**p i admire that looks like it's owned by someone who's into it the 'Built not Bought' way many of us are (unless it's a Grumpy Grill, has uncovered 'poke', or blacked-out windows).
around home that's not often, as what i typically see is tons of stock J**ps (almost always a Sporty Girl) or one of those J**p-shaped hybrids with the blue tow-hooks. those people typically don't seem to see me and/or wave back if i wave at them anyway.
once i get out where we play, it seems like most anything modified will wave back as that's where we're most likely to see others most like us.

Moab? sorry, forget it; too many other J**ps to wave at.
